Well you can have a 10 day trial for nowt, either as a download from Blizzard or from someone else who has the discs. Expect to do a lot of downloading to start with though before it'll actually play. If you want to continue you'll need to buy a copy of the original game (either digitally on the WoW website or from any game retailer). This will give you the original game's 2 continents, a level cap of 60 and the original 8 races (Night Elf, Dwarf, Gnome, Human, Orc, Troll, Undead and Tauren). Each expansion is a separate purchase (and they're sequential - you can't get Wrath of the Lich King if you don't have Burning Crusade and so on). Currently on Amazon, original WoW is £5.75, the Burning Crusade expansion is £6.49 and Wrath of the Lich King is a tenner. The latest expansion, Cataclysm, is still up at £22. You get the first 30 days after buying it free, after that it's £9 a month. And your soul. You can get someone who plays the game to refer you, gives you a boost to levelling speed if you're with them in game (and they get a fancy 2-seater mount if you sign up). Edit: Just noticed Amazon had this http://www.amazon.co.uk/World-Warcraft-Battlechest-PC-Mac/dp/B000WDZT9M/ref=sr_1_2?s=videogames&ie=UTF8&qid=1292780020&sr=1-2 That's original WoW and the Burning Crusade expansion for £7.
