Is the guy who plays Cutler in anyway related to David Thewlis? he sounds alot like him.

No idea, but he's very, very good.

Any chance it's an in-joke to perform almost an impression of Thewlis here? He played a werewolf in Potter/Thewlis impression for someone playing a vampire?

May sound a BIT of a stretch but the mannerisms and vocal intonation are so exactly like Thewlis that it goes a TAD beyond similarities cos of family or local accent cos he comes from the same area and can only be deliberate. Well, IMO.

So Annie has finally gone and the new trio will take us into the 5th season next year... The main storyline sort of worked but never truly grabbed me although I must admit I like Hal a lot. I thought this season was a reboot (terrible terrm I know, sorry!) but it appears S5 will be and this new trio looks very promising!

Not too sure on the new gal...not to say I don't like her. I do, but it's gonna take some getting used to.

I'm not sure that "Eve" is entirely genuine but assuming she is I reckon that Annie is going to do the "bad thing" that will let her cross over and save the world. With that done I think next series we'll see Tom and Hal together with Alex making up the ghostly component of the central trio.

Then again could be totally wrong

Hey, I was right. Didn't really take a genius to see that coming though. It was all tied up quite nicely and there are some nice seeds being sown for next series. Sad that there's no-one left from the original cast but Tom and Hal  work well together and I think Alex will fit in quite well (helps that she's also rather purty).

I will miss Annie though.

In retrospect, it does make me laugh that the only reason we all thought this was because the actress playing grown up Eve was so incredibly wooden!

That's exactly what I thought (almost word for word)

Excellent ending and not sad to see Annie go. In fact I prefer Hal and Tom to the Mitchell George duo.

"GIVE ME MY FUCKING BABY!"

If I'd of seen George big eared face as Annie went through her door, I'd of lost it. I thought I was fine then "Cause you're me best mate" came along.

Bit of a slight let down as would've liked to have seen a longer run for Gattis's character maybe the whole of the next series?

I'm with Wilder, was a tad let down but it. It was this big build up and then BOOM all gone, as fast as. I rather liked the Hal/Tom/Annie trio, might take a few episodes to get used to Alex, and I fear they might go down the Mitchell/Annie route...

...

...

much prefer the Hal/Tom one meself

EDIT: Also what has that blond actor been in (you know the one at the end - that cleared stuff up)? I just can't think.

I initially thought it was Alexis Denisof from Buffy/Angel.

Not sure how I feel about the new girl yet as we haven't seen much of her, but the chemistry between the lads is great fun to watch

What's even more ironic is that BBC3 cancelled Lip Service S3 (which has a massive following/support) to plow their money into this, so if it has been cancelled then that's taking the piss somewhat!

Anyways, a decent start to S5 and as always the guy who plays Hal is looking seriously fit so i'm easily pleased even when the storyline veered into the slightly mundane (the newbie vamp). Apparently episode 2 on Sunday is creepy. I shall be watching.

I think going in to this series it was thought that it would be the last one anyway.

I am enjoying this season but I am getting tired of Vampires relapsing - getting clean - relapsing again - and so on.

I was really upset when Bobby offed himself, and last night's corpse spouting 'He will rise' gave me the heebie-jeebies.

Highlight of the season so far

Alex: Who are you?
Hatch: I'm only the fucking devil!
