I watched Rush Hour 3 recently, and found afterwards that there's about 2.5 hours of extras plus a commentary.
Can I really muster the energy?

In answer to my own rhetorical question... yes.

Rush Hour 3: I watched the hour-25 making of (bit annoying) and the hour long  production diary (more interesting), so I've finally "finished" watching everything on RH3...

Dreadnought: I also watched a 20 min interview with Lily Li from this Yun Biao film...

Carlito's Way: ...and the 35 min making of doc from this.

Extras RT: 7

9th Company: The hour or so of extras.

I just checked and found I have 17 commentaries to watch (for films that I've alrady watched - many more, I imagine, from films I haven't). There just isn't the time.

Extras RT: 8

The extra's on the DVD from Lord of War are disappointing: behind the scenes without comment, short interviews with the typical promotion-talk , lines notes,...

Just been watching the retrospective doc on the Indiana Jones bonus disc.

Still disappoints me to hear Spielberg say that Temple is his least favourite.

Ghost in the Shell: Innocence: The short Making Of doc and the commentary.
The commentary by director Oshii Mamoru and animation director Nishikubo Toshihiko was pretty interesting, more of a chat between themselves about the trials and tribulations of animating various scenes.

Extras RT: 10

Bit of mopping up:

The Iceman Cometh: (Hong Kong Legends) - interviews with Yuen Biao and Yuen Wah.

Above The Law: (Dragon Dynasty) - interviews with Yuen Biao, Cynthia Rothrock and Peter Cunningham

Ninja In The Dragon's Den: (Hong Kong Legends) - interview with Ng See Yuen and Roy Horan

Which just leaves the commentaries on all 3...

Enchanted - Disappointed. Would have liked there to have been more of a 'making of' the entire movie, instead of just the songs parts. Also hated the pop-up-book feature.

Just watched Full Metal Jacket: Between Good and Evil on the new Full Metal Jacket Deluxe editon DVD.

The new Stanley Kubrick boxset is excellent for extras.

Watched about 40mins of extras from The Wire: Season 3. Pretty dull viewing really.

agreed with what was said about The Goonies doc. it's very good, but Feldman don't shut up.

i seriously have too many extra's to watch, i keep saying to myself that when i buy a dvd, i'll watch the entire content on the disk before moving onto the next, but i never happens.

hehe.

The trailers are very good, although the TV spots are quite short.  The 'Finding Equilibrium' featurette is very good too, but could have been a lot longer.  The commentaries (one by writer-director Kurt Wimmer, and the other by Kurt Wimmer and producer Lucas Foster) are excellent: very interesting and informative, especially if you want to become a filmmaker.

I hope they bring out a special edition DVD like Kurt Wimmer was suggesting on the commentary tracks (and a CD of Klaus Badelt's amazing score, for that matter).

4.5/5

King Kong (2003) simlar to the LOTR's, as in style and info, just not as much. I liked it., could have watched more to be honest.

So Rodriguez and Tarantino have two other possible projects: Macheté and Nikita

Romanzo Criminale
: The short Making Of documentary (rather dull).

Arahan: The short Making Of documentary (ok) and Development in Martial Arts Films documentary (interesting but too short).

Ninja in the Dragons Den: The Bey Logan commentary (same as ever).

Sunshine: The commentary by the scientist fella, Dr. Brian Cox (more interesting than I'd expected, and reminded that the film is really quite smashing).

Wonder if it's mainly me who watches DVD extras, or in fact it's just that other people don't really see the point of posting to this thread................

Anyway, latest:

Knockabout - The interviews with Sammo Hung and Leung Kar Yan (Beardy).

Yesterday I listened to the commentary on Star Wars: Clone Wars Volume 1, was pretty decent I thought, but not amazing or anything.

I find I don't have time to watch the film with commentaries its hard enough squeezing the film in itself with the kids monopolizing the tv.

However recently I've watched (part from commentaries) all the extras from death proof, planet terror and sin city recut and extended, swingers, blade runner 5 disc version and the first season of Alias.

Blade runner extras were awesome 5/5
Sincity 4.5/5
Planet terror 4.5 / 5
Death proof 3/ 5
Swingers 4.5 /5
ALias 2.5/5

I was looking for a thread concerning watching extra's. Like there is a thread for the films you watched maybe there can be also a same kind of thread for discussing and quoting extra's you'd watched.

I have tried so hard not to comment on the inappropriate use of the apostrophe that is rather too prevalent in some threads but ..... no; I cannot hold back as this one appears in the thread title and it is driving me mad!   PLEASE, PLEASE; you should not have an apostrophe here!  Thank you; I feel better now I've got that out my system.  Sorry, I'm a pedant; what can I say.

I recommend Brian Blessed's commentary on the Flash Gordon 25th anniversary dvd, absolutely hilarious!! He's never lost for words, and takes all the credit!
