ORIGINAL: Chris Hewitt Cloverfield is to be watched on the big screen, not the small. ignoring the whole stealing thing that is an interesting comment. considering the film is seen through the eyes of a hand held video camera, it might work better on the small screen? you dont normally watch 'home movies' on a massive cinema screen so this film might be even more frightening on the small screen. its 'home environment'. ive not seen it yet but im intrigued. it might be better to wait to see it on dvd rather than the cinema? what do you think? All theatrical release movies are intended to be seen on the big screen, however, I do agree that some films do work better when watched at home alone on a smaller screen, The Blair Witch Project is a good example... I hated it at the cinema, grew to enjoy it on DVD. A lot of that is due to it's handheld video camera perspective, which is of course the same (kind of) style which Cloverfield is aiming for. However, I think Cloverfield's scale demands a big screen viewing, partly because I hear the sound design is superb.
