just found out via Facebook that an exgirlfriend recently tried to comit suicide (of course she may be over-reacting/lieing, wouldnt be the first time) as she was just about to be made homeless!!!!!

Feel so so sorry for her, but what can I do.

I found out about the birth of my newest niece back in May through facebook. I was texting my brother the night my sis-in-law went into labour and told him I was too scared to go to sleep because I didn't want to miss the news or be the last to hear. Woke up at 7am and checked my phone - nothing. Went on facebook and they had tonnes of congratulations from extended family and acquaintances under an announcement.

That fucked me off big time. Me and my bro are still not talking.


Ah that sucks. I argue quite a bit with my siblings (especially my youngest sister who thinks Facebook is the accepted way of airing dirty laundry) but it's never gotten to the point that we've stopped speaking.

The whole situation really grinds my gears, I found out my grandfather had died the same way.

I have 2 sisters, my mum and 3 of my aunts living locally. Apart from my step dad I'm the only bloke and as such don't actually socialise much with them outside of the odd visit and family occasion. All the rest of them meet up for a glass of wine and a gossip at least once a week. Now I don't mind missing out on this, the last thing I need to know is what Mrs Evans 3 doors down is up to at the weekend, but the knock on effect is that I am completely out of the loop with everything else that happens. It's been pissing me off for a while because, literally, the only way I find out about anything family related is through Facebook or off the wife. Grrr.

Are your managers the type where you can talk to them and give them a feel that you're a bit out of the game at the moment? I was really lucky last year to have very supportive managers.

 Yeah, probably (hopefully). He's been supportive in the past and to be honest, I generally don't bring home life into the workplace, so he's unaware of most of the shitty stuff in the last year so I'd imagine he'll be understanding if it comes to that.

I just don't like fucking up and I'm pissed off at myself.

 I had a week like that a month or so back, where I basically fucked up everything I could.

I didn't even have a good reason like you obviously do with things at home. I was just screwing up.

This is a standard day for me. I'm pretty useless at everything, so am continuously screwing up! Matty if it's only the second time you've messed up then I'd definitely cut yourself some slack.

I recently had to the admin role at my work after the admin person had left. I'd been doing it for a week and on the following Monday sat down at the desk and the first thing I did? Made a big fat fucking mistake.

You are not alone. #MJ.

On an unrelated note, I'm not so much pissed off as mildly incovenienced. I finished work yesterday for 9 days holiday - or it was meant to be. Until my boss asked me if I could go to another branch on one of my days off to get training on a new system they're rolling out within the company. So I have to get up at 6am tomorrow, on my holiday, to sit on a train for a couple of hours before having to meet people I'll have to make small talk with, and spend the whole day there. All the while just thinking about what I could be doing with my day off.

I'm not in the mood for it at all.

You should put it in lolcat form, to properly remove the barriers between internet person and everyday person.

Cheers, I'm trying, but it's just because it's the exact same thing that I did first time round which had already prompted a general email to everyone to remind us of how we do a particular procedure, and it's with a big national client, that I've really ticked myself off about it. Hey-ho, I doubt my boss will be as annoyed with me as I am.

O/T - I hope you're getting paid/or getting your holiday back for tomorrow. That's pretty crappy to ask someone to do that on their holiday.

 Went for a job interview, thought it was all going well, and then they decide to tell me that I have to commute between two different depots. Really annoying as it was more money for less hours. However, factoring the travelling time it won't be such a good deal anymore.

 Once again a friend has let me down at the last moment. He has moved a few miles away and I am trying to stay in contact. Whenever I suggest meeting up he makes a suggestion such as the cinema and asks me to book the tickets which I duly do. Now for the third time out of the last four times he has texted me at the last minute to tell me he can't make it with no further explanation meaning once again I am out of pocket. I think I am going to give up on him.

Not a cough but a shitty cold   Woke up Saturday morning with it and it's been getting worse since.  Seems like everyone has got some form of illness at the moment....

 Started my new job today and I don't like it at all. None of the systems were up and running on my computer, all departments are at each others throats, and it just seems so hectic. Complete opposite to my previous job.
