On the bus home, and I overheard two children - a boy and a girl, I reckon siblings - who must have been 6 and 7, or younger.Anyway, they were having a laugh amongst themselves, in a "we're up to something" kind of way. The mother asked what was so funny, and, after much cajoling one of them said, between guffaws, that the jokes was about "bum sex".

What in the BLUE FUCK is a 6 and 7 year old doing knowing about that? I mean, WHAT. THE FUCK. I didn't even know about sex at that age. I barely knew that girls existed as anything other than something weird and infectious. So what twisted, upside-down FUCKED UP world do these children live in that has got to them to stage where they not only know about buggery, but are at a point where they are joking about it, AT THE AGE OF SIX? Jesus H Fucking Christ.

Where the fuck did childhood go? What happened to innocence, to enjoying a carefree existence? To being fucking children. No, sorry, fuck childhood, because you're going to learn all the stuff you have no need to know until you're older, right now.

I don't want to live in this world any more.

Also, isn't laughing mischeviously at rude stuff part and parcel of childhood?

At least they were giggling about it secretly instead of shouting it from the rooftops. I'm sure I laughed at rude jokes about bums and having sex with them at that age and I'd definitely viewed my fair share of crumpled up porn mags found under trees.

They weren't whispering it.

And bums are funny. Bum sex sort of changes the game. And are you saying you were looking at porn mags at the age of six?

Quite possible that they know the phrase but have no idea what it means. You know it just sounds rude and funny, giggle-giggle.

I only realised what sex was at around 16. Before that I was able to interact with females. I heard of rude words, but didn't know what they meant. Just knew they''re things to say to people if you're angry with them.

Possible, but I got the impression there was a level of knowledge beyond their years.

You're posting on the reason.

Huh?

Oh, are you saying my post has pissed you off?

I think he's saying that the Internet is the reason for it.

That is pretty strange to be honest. I can't remember when I first learned about sex of any kind but I was definitely older than that. How did the mother react when they told her?

I remember knowing the words when I lived in Germany, so I must have been 7 or younger. I wouldn't have known the meanings aside from "bottom sex teeheeheehee" though.

Along with no longer believing in God, Father Christmas, the Tooth Fairy etc, 6-7 seems to have been an eye opening age for me.

Yeah this just reminded me of when I was still in primary school and first started hearing 'grown up' words from other kids around me. I used to muck about with other kids in my street after school and they were all in the year or two below me. I'd hear certain words and pass it onto them.... Because, well, no particular reason really. One incident sticks out in my mind that as an adult I'm a bit ashamed of, because it was bullying really. I found out about a particular word and it's meaning and told a couple of the other girls, but we deliberated chose to not tell one of the girls the meaning behind it. Then we'd skip about singing it really loudly that this girl was this word and obviously she had no idea what it was. Pretty cruel and as an adult it makes me cringe. Not that it happened regularly, just that on that one afternoon, until our parents caught wind of it and we got a row. Rightfully.

Similarly at lunch one day with the family of two of the girls I mucked about with, and their younger brother must have been about 6 or 7 at the most, and just as the waitress came over the to table this wee kid says to his sister, 'Laura, you're a penis.' That obviously set the girls off, and the mum's face was like thunder, unsurprisingly. I know that's not in the same bracket as 'bum sex' since it's obviously a standard word, and I'm not saying that we should all act casual about kids saying things they shouldn't, but you'd be surprised at how much they learn at school through older kids and older siblings.

Sorry, but the way he says the name first, I'm hearing this in a very well-spoken, factual sort of way, and I just guffawed at work. Sort, of a "Laura, pass the salt" sort of tone is how I'm hearing that.

My little lad who was six at the time came into the kitchen last month and asked me what a Gaylord is. After i'd spat the coffee i was drinking at the time all over the floor and got my hysterical laughing fit under control I managed to ask him why he wanted to know "Because I think my brother is one".

After i'd finished pissing myself, I asked where he'd heard this and it was from older kids in school, he had no idea what it meant and after considering explaining it he'd already lost intrest as Scooby Doo was on.

Just because little kids are saying such things, usually picked up from older kids, doesn't mean they have any grasp of what the words mean in any context.

Are you just going on a spree with the edited quotes? This made me laugh! Especially the lack of attempt to even string any of that together. Fucking a.

Surely just because they were saying Bum Sex doesn't mean they know intimate details about what they were talking about? Blatently I had no idea of sex at that age, but I still used terms like that, just bantered innocently around the playground - I got suspended from primary school for three days for suggesting the deputy headmaster "lick him mum's cunt" but that doesn't mean I was particularly au fait with incestual oral sex.

I think Homer's just upset they know more about bum sex than he does.

And you are now???

I agree with your point though. I remember friends in primary school who probably had no idea what they were singing about, and I remember doing it myself, singing "up the Shankill, down the Falls. Kick the (fill in the blank, sounds like 'onions') in the balls." It wasn't til years later that I found out what it meant, having no concept of the religious complexities/sectarianism in my lovely little country at that age.

The abd thing about that is, at the time they probably heard it from their own parents.

And you are now???

totally!

Just found out that my sister has only just come home after spending a couple of nights in hospital. Seriously, if it wasn't for Facebook I'd get to know absolutely nothing about what's going on in my family. Just because I'm not a nosy cunt like my other sister, my mum and my aunt doesn't mean I don't want to know these things .

I'm going through some old documents to clear some space, and I found an old report from my school days.

I'm currently seeing red because of what one of my teachers said Arrogant, patronising prick!

I feel your pain.

I found out about the birth of my newest niece back in May through facebook. I was texting my brother the night my sis-in-law went into labour and told him I was too scared to go to sleep because I didn't want to miss the news or be the last to hear. He told me to stop being silly and to go to sleep, he'd be intouch as soon as something happened.

Woke up at 7am and checked my phone - nothing. Went on facebook and they had tonnes of congratulations from extended family and acquaintances under an announcement.

That fucked me off big time. Me and my bro are still not talking.
