Most people said "Oh, any time between 2pm and 2:30)". That made me annoyed, and it was only a hypothetical meeting!

You've changed, I know it's a cliche when best friends meet someone and shack up (albeit within two months of meeting said person and that person hardly being much of a catch to say the least....) but this is ridiculous and now you want to have a conversation about it on facebook at 2.15 in the morning on a phone you can't work properly so I have to wait ten minutes for each reply. No, sorry, but fuck that.

I find it funny (and very sad) that one of my best friends who was the biggest idealist when it came to loyalty, standing by and holding onto your friends is the first to ditch everyone when she finds a partner. When it all ends in tears (which it will) who's doorstep will she turn up on though....

Not pissed off, but saddened.

Just found out that the sister of an ex-girlfriend of mine has died of cancer. She was 26.

I'll be truthful, the ex is not someone I've particularly kept in touch with over the years so this hasn't devastated me as such, but I met the sister a few times and I know how close they were. And there was only the two of them, so now she has no siblings.

I'm not sure what to do now - there's an online memorial site for her to leave messages on, or I do know the ex has a Facebook account so I could send her a message.

But 26. Fuck. I'm pretty sure her husband is only the same age as well.

This year has been the shittiest I've ever known by a considerable distance.

I have a friend who, during our university years, the rest of the group would usually tell to turn up to somewhere an hour before the rest of us had any intention of being there. That way she'd only be an hour late.

I know it's old-fashioned, but maybe a physical card might be the way to go. It's not just that I'm not a fan of these online things, but given the relationship or the one you want to give a nod to, maybe a couple of words by hand might be an option?

I don't think time would be a problem as it's still at the service, but getting the address would be I guess.

Go with your gut - if you left with a decent relationship it's just you acknowledging the difficulty of losing someone so close. That's always a kindness and never a bad thing.

The dog is supposed to be going to a kennel/training centre for 3 weeks and we had to postpone it a couple of times for one reason or another. Anyway they were supposed to be picking him up and I knew they'd fuck it up having rearranged the dates and they haven't shown up and its an hour past the pickup time. FUCK.

I've had to get out of the flat for a while due to the neighbors dog barking constantly! The owner doesn't even live there anymore, his former partner just keeps looking after in then leaving it to bark. To top it off, it's running about the communal area where my washer is as she's left the door open so I don't want to go out and do my washing. It's quieter in this packed coffee shop.

My cousin has really, really pissed me off.

She's the same age as me and was the chief bridesmaid at my wedding, being as how my ex is her best friend and it was in fact her that introduced us to each other back in the day. However, she's married a complete dickhead who took a complete dislike to my ex-wife to the extent of telling my cousin that she couldn't socialise with her. And because she has absolutely no spine to stand up to him, she's done what he said and pretty much cut her out of her life.

So my ex obviously told her about our marriage breaking up and has she been to comfort her or take her for a night out to take her mind off it? Nope. Has she contacted me at all to see how I'm doing? Nope. Complete ignorance of the both of us - and now I've heard that she's pregnant and no doubt she'll want some kind of congratulations from me. Well, she can go fucking jump - bringing the offspring of that tool into the world is nothing to celebrate.

It makes me sad first and foremost that I can't see myself celebrating this with her as we used to be really close, but just the fact of how ignorant she's been disappoints me and has pissed me off greatly.

Vicks First Defence is my option of choice at the moment. I usually get two or three colds in the season but last year had none and had the first signs of one last week but after a few days it has gone and never really developed.
