Well there it isnother fantastic year of films, but there are so many favourites yet to be added to the list.  This year has left me craving more of Japan's finest (Imamura's Vengeance is Mine has been significantly bumped up the list, as has Assassination).  2009 will certainly see more Ozu, more Mizoguchi, Naruse revisted and certainly some Kurosawa's that I haven't seen in ages along with the release of Dodeska'den (woopee!) in feb.  Sadly I didn't have time to get through all all the films I wanted to in 2008.  The list itself has been ordered as precisely as I'd like to, there are many in the wrong place but it's too many to fuss over.  Happy New Year everyone!

Not bad I guess. No absolute top tenners (though I am quite a harsh marker) and nothing really horrendously bad, though the Saw sequels were a real low point.

About 3 films a week on average. I'm hoping to watch a few more than this in 2009, though it'll probably end up being around the same. Although I still have a number of HK films to watch, I'm guessing there'll be less on my 2009 list (and hopefully more S. Korean films).
