I like the music that's in it two, it has a this cool type guitar twang thing, whenever Riggs decides to go ahead in front of Murtaugh. There still are some very powerful moments like when Riggs has the gun in his mouth and he's watching the Bugs Bunny Christmas Special on the t.v. It's not melodramatic either, and when Gibson smacks himself upside the head with that prop gun it just looks like it hurt. It's interesting that the ending of Lethal Weapon is like the ending of Die Hard, only Sgt. Al Powell (Reginald Vel Johnson) shoots Karl on a lawn as McClane and his wife duck for cover and both Riggs and Murtaugh shoot Mr. Joshua (Gary Busy) on a lawn. Just a dumb observation though. I have seen the Director's cut, and that scene with the hooker is funny. It's amazing Shane Black wrote this script when he was just 24 years old. I enjoy his writing though, Kiss Kiss Bang Bang is another good script of his and he directed it too.

 I've said it before - I'm not keen on the sequels 'cos Riggs just wasn't that LETHAL! yep, I reckon Shane Black's script was the clincher here.

Well in Lethal Weapon 2 he does go apeshit on the guys who kill his new girlfriend and blow up his trailer.

I think it's a perfect example of a great action/thriller, with a fully delvoped plot, great characters, and top performances.  Hey i'm no Mel Gibson fan, but his never been better than in the first of these films.

Out of the rest i like Three, but don't rate two and Four.

 The first is the ONLY 'Weapon' for Snake-Eyes for many reasons and one of them is that the arse-rash of an annoyance called 'Leo Getz' isn't in it.

 Lethal Weapon and Lethal Weapon 2 are my favourites there was no need for Lethal Weapon 3 but it was still very funny and Lethal Weapon 4 which I think was just on channel 5 tonight was not nesscary, at least no. 3 was funny.

I watched all 4 of them recently over 2 nghts, and the first two are still amazingly good action movies, the third has a weak villain but the story behind Roger shooting the kid is good, and it has the best opening sequence of all of them. 4 is ok but its not violent enough and theres too many comedy moments in it, most of them not funny. Theres nothing to compare to the opening of 2 in it with the two pursuits.

Come on Snake,Riggs was fucking LETHAL after Patsy Kensit was killed.Just look at the amount of pain he dished out to the baddies during the last 20 mins! It doesnt get any more lethal than dropping a fucking 100 ton container on top of the guy who kills your wife!

And i like Getz in LW2,hes really funny here before he got kinda annoying in th next two films.

Watched this today gotta say with the exception of Riggs picking up the prostitute after having dinner with his new partners family. I like the original cut a whole lot more. Love this movie.

went to see Lethal Weapon 2, ten times at the movies! TEN!

From the moment it opens, with Mel Gibson whooping over that music that sounds like the start of a Looney Tunes cartoon, I was hooked!!

The first is obviously the best since that's the one where it all started, but I think 2's the most enjoyable -- takes what was good about the first, namely the interplay between Riggs and Murtaugh, and cranks it up a notch. And unless you've got something personal against Pesci, I don't know how anyone could find Leo annoying (unless you're annoyed with him in the same context as Gibson and Glover's characters in the movie, in which case, that's how you're supposed to feel) -- not only is he perfect as the comic relief, but he serves a purpose in that he progresses the relationship off our two buddy cops as we get to see them working in 'harmony' as opposed to working against one another, which, in my opinion, is far more fun and entertaining to watch.

caught this last night - it was cut, but still a good film overall

gotta go find the HD Blu-Ray box-set and enjoy the whole series all over again ;)

Really? What was cut from it? I only saw the last 45 minutes on ITV + 1 but it didn't seem to be edited.

Being South African , the second one really makes me cringe, although the scene where Murtaugh gets thrown out of the SA embassy and starts a mini riot is hilarious

What is everyones problem with the fourth film though? I've seen it a few times and found it quite fun actually, prefering it to the third (less Rene Russou). That scene where they are fighting in the furniture removal truck is amazing, with Riggs getting dragged along the highway on the tabl. Granted its not as gritty as the first two, but its still quite entertaining
