*pours brandy*

Tell you what is, (to use a phrase I seem to have picked up down here in Wales), 'lush'... cherry brandy and coke. It's like cherry coke, for adults.

Brandy is nice with port best of all. Christmas 2002, pixie was pregnant with our son and was, by default, designated driver. We went over to my sister-in-law's for Christmas dinner, and my brother was visiting too. Me, my brother, my sister-in-law's husband (kinda my brother-in-law-in-law...) all got slowly, but surely, drunk, draining a bottle of brandy, a bottle of port, and afterwards a bottle of something else I can't quite recall.

Then we played Monopoly......

Port and brandy. A winning combination. Warm, but with a kick.

Ahh, board games and Christmas. Love board games any time of year, but especially at Christmas.

You know you can get custom made Monopoly boards? They print them properly and everything! Can you imagine one round Newport or Cardiff?!

I've got the candy canes.  Think we're all set!

Homer I think there is a Cardiff edition of Monopoly.  I'm sure I saw it in The Entertainer.

I think I'll amend the title of this thread slightly to reflect the general pre-Christmas atmosphere in here...

Edit: Done!

X-Men Monopoly and Disney Monopoly here.  OK so technically the Disney one is my daughter's.  I have got Lord of the Rings Risk though!

Is there a fatboy (bean bags are, like, so, last year) down there with my name on it?

Anyone else catching It's A Wonderful Life at the cinema? It's at my local Cineworld on Wed 19th. Perfect pre-Christmas cinema.

Nope, but does watching it on DVD on Christmas Eve count?

I've got Lord of the Rings Trivial Pursuit as well but no one will play it with me

That log cabin looks just the job as long as it has a 50" plasma with surround sound!

Hobs, it's the Empire Log Cabin.  Of course it doesn't come with a 50" plasma TV.  It's a 72" with full surround sound.  Just gotta get Neth and Felix to hook it up.  That's if they ever get off their honeymoon.

It has to have a mousse head on the wall as well, no good log cabin should be without one

Does it come as a surprise that I have Simpsons Monopoly, Simpsons Scrabble, Simpsons Game of Life, and Simpsons Cluedo? I'm waiting for them to release a Simpsons Scene It, although no one would play me!

My bro-in-law has LOTR Monopoly, LOTR Risk, and Star Wars Monopoly

Ok Hobs, but once you're drunk enough on the port, brandy, mulled wine and whatever else is going I'm pulling the plug on those damned things.  What is absolutely necessary however, that we all seem to have forgotten.
