A little surreal to see Wilshere in the first team again. Match sharpness not fully there yet but the class is still evident (probably our best player yesterday), once he gets a few games going with Arteta and Cazorla it could be wonderful. Another poor performance (though just about an improvement on recent matches), though it's just good to win a match again. It's never nice to see anyone getting injured but Gervinho being out could be a good thing, because it'll mean - wait for it - Arshavin getting a few starts. Giroud has been sorely under-utilised by the fact that neither Gervinho, Ox or Ramsey can cross a ball particularly well, and Podolski is more effective cutting in and causing damage from the middle of the box. Arshavin is a much more effective crosser of the ball, and providing he shows even some of the effectiveness he demonstrated at the Euros/the end of last season at Zenit/the occasional appearance he's made so far this season, he'll give us something we've really been lacking in the last couple of games going forward. Sagna being back benefits as well, what with him being the best crosser in the team. I'd almost consider resting Podolski at some point (has he actually finished a game yet this season?) and try out Arshavin and Walcott on each flank, which would for me offer the biggest threat out wide and get Giroud more of the service he needs. Though if AW doesn't want to play Arshavin, Gnabry starting a few games would be pretty cool too. He's looked nifty when he's been on and looks like he'd bring the kind of pace that our frontline desperately needs (still feel like Theo is best as an impact sub, but he's still an improvement on Gervinho). That said, something really needs to be done about Santos. He's been exposed horribly in every game he's started so far (quite impressive considering how terrible everyone has been), United will absolutely annihilate us if he plays next weekend. Vermaelen maybe if Gibbs isn't fit, allowing Kos/Mert to play in the centre? I've heard a few people suggest Sagna on the left, can't say I've ever seen him in that position but it could work.
