 Ramsey has just started WWIII: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-middle-east-19822253

good result, poor performance. Probably Arteta's worst performance in an Arsenal shirt, Coquelin and Cazorla flitted in and out. Ramsey and Giroud looked really handy when they came on. MotM Jenkinson or Gibbs, which is fortunate since Verm and Kos both took off-days.

 It's the only time I've seen him play badly, misplaced passes all over the place and generally sloppy (our whole midfield struggled to control the game in the first half, really). There was a general improvement in the second half though, and we pretty much deserved the goal by the time the Embodiment Of Death went all Messi style.

The Gervinho/Giroud thing is so frustrating though - Gerv is crap for 80% of every match he plays but his scoring has been clinical (never thought I'd write that), Giroud does a lot of good things but just can't score ;__;

Arsenal were mesmeric up till the goal. I thought it was going to be easily 0-5 or something.

Now Gibbs and Jenks better setup/score some goals in the second half to make up for giving away a clean sheet bonus!!!

 We were terrible in the second half until the goal game came against the run of play. Highly pleasing result, Cazorla/Giroud/Mannone the standout performers for me.

 Three points against a Big Sam team away from home is fantastic really (I was expecting a draw at best this morning). The next couple of games aren't too bad (I've jinxed it now obviously), though hopefully we can get through this international break without any major injuries. Wonder if Jack will be match-fit by then?

You are also moving quite nicely in the Champions League group.

Where do you see the team finishing? I'm finding it hard to look beyond City, Utd and Chelsea for the top 3 spots. I would say then that only Arsenal and Spurs would be fighting it out for the 4th Champions League spot.

Though I doubt AVB as a manager, the Spurs team does seem to be coming together well and I think they and Arsenal are quite even. The match on Nov 17th should be interesting. I can't see Everton or WBA being able to stay the pace (though I really wish they could).

I don't think there is enough in the tank of this Arsenal team to seriously challenge for the title, but it would be nice to see them set their sights on winning something this season.

 It's strange really, I expect us to finish lower than we did last season but I also think the gap between us and the teams above us won't be as massive as last year - we've closed at least a small chunk of the gap between us and the Manchester clubs only for Chelsea to utterly overtake us with their summer spending. I'd say we're still on the same level as Spurs like last year - both teams lost a key player and replaced him by strengthening other areas of the team with some good purchases, and I expect it to be much like last year in that respect.

We say this every year, but I'd like to see a real effort to win a domestic cup if possible. I wouldn't necessarily take the FA Cup over a CL place (looking at our accounts anyway) but the trophy drought is the biggest monkey on the team's back, the sooner it ends the sooner the focus can return to pushing for the title - and might be able to convince some of the more anxious players in the squad that we actually are going somewhere. Failing that, we could always abandon the league and try to win the Champions League, which would be insanity but highly entertaining.
