Seriously, how much of an idiot are you? This is a trailer that is going to be released, probably not in front of another R rated or PG-13 movie, and you desperately need the profanity already there to please your adolescent desires? Stay home. There's too much pollution already in the world. The ARC awaits.

 The problem, surely by the time the film comes out or within a few days after that, everybody will know what the film is about, will have probably seen pictures of the monster etc...

Unless the monster is never seen and the film ends with nobody knowing what happened.

It's one onf those film whose marketing campaing and build up is probably more interesting than the film itself

can't be asked to go to cinema anyway since there is much better film next year and also in febuary i'll be watching rambo.

looks cool but then a good trailer can make anything look good. i think its one of those films you have to see first before word gets round about the content and it loses its edge.

Christ, it looks a bit like Admiral Ahkbar from Jedi. But a bit bigger. Maybe it is him on holiday and it just turns out the Star Wars galaxy was on a bigger scale to ours.

And no, it's smoke.. not a monster. At 1:29 there is something huge walking between the buildings. That's all you see. And of course the girl that "expands/mutates" when she is being restrained by the hazmat dudes.

Okay lets sum this up.
It could be another Godzilla. It does look similar, lets agree on that.
It's filmed in a Blair Witch style. (Please God tell me it won't be as bad as that pile of overhyped sh*te!)
It's made by JJ Abrams who may have sold his soul to Satan (Cruise) but is doing a Faust and getting out of the deal with his integrity intact.
It has the potential to be a cult hit of the size of Fight Club or Blue Velvet.
It also has the potential to be a failure of Snakes on a Plane proportions (come on that was bo**ocks)
Until it's released it will generate more internet chatter than Paris Hilton and Britney combined.
The acting may be a bit dodgy but as it's filmed in a POV style should it look the people are acting or just coping with what's going on?

Does that cover everything?

 It's no Godzilla (check out JJ Abrams at Comic Con on YouTube). Though it does look similar. But hey, any monster destroying NYC would look like Godzilla. 
You're right on the BlairWitch part, but I did like the movie
I'm not gonna let out on Abrams.
No movie which had it's first trailer shown in front of  Transformers will be a culthit.
Every movie has the potential to fail like Snakes, you just never know.
And you're fuckin' right about the Paris and Britney part LMAO.
The acting isn't that bad right? Except for the blurred army dude. Maybe that's why he's blurred ;) (THERE'S NOTHING WE CAN DO FOR YOU!)

 Well we are getting excited about it at work, we have the trailers ready to put into the film reels but... we aint getting told to put them in. Its weird, trailers for Jumper, No Country For Old Men etc are all over the place but Cloverfield has just been sitting in our trailer cupboard for weeks.

We have posters and standees in the foyer but this is mainly our decision, no one seems to know what the fuck it is, I have had a few people working on our box office asking me what it is for (no title and all). Although there has been much buzz on the net, they need to get this thing out there much more for the general public. I mean its a hard sell as it is, a no-star monster movie filmed in shaky-cam, but to not be running many trailers is crazy. Might just be because Christmas is coming and all the promo is for family stuff though.

THe first trailer showed the time the monster first attacked was 12:36 AM

THe last images on this trailer shows the GWB Falls at 9:56 this movie takes place over night? or is it a hint at something?

Of course, shit films can have good trailers, but I have to say that looks pretty good. I wasn't really interested in it until I saw the trailer, so I guess the trailer's done it's job!

It's putting an interesting spin on the old "Monster smashes up a city" yarn that's been done before with King Kong and Godzilla. I hope the shaky cam doesn't get too annoying though and start inducing motion sickness

Why would somebody record themselves saying "if you're watching this, you know more than me?" other than to explain plot holes? If the film hinges on the wafer thin premise of people who are so self aware that when their city is being devastated, they record their every move on camera - to coin a phrase - there may be trouble ahead . . .
