for any people who want to slander this, mainly the guy who said it looks like blair witch project in a bad way..... right this film looks like an amazing fantasy thriller much like war of the worlds, but the handheld camera makes it look better adding realism to a massive story, unlike the not so realistic acting from Tom Cruise. This could be one of the biggest films of the year. my opinion on the blurred out face is that it is a famous actor which the producers did not reveal as the media would have been all over them (the secrecy is good...very exciting), maybe a Jamie foxx, ooh or wesley snipes haven't seen him for a bit. but yeh anyway this looks amazing and anyone who thinks about saying its looks bad, get your eyes checked.

I was looking forward to this but now it just looks like ur typical hammy americans with some over the top screaming in front of some shake-o-vision cameras those monster had better eat the cast pretty quikly for this to be enjoyable

youve heard of Mount Rushmore right? Abraham Lincon is actualy the monster, mde from stone. Thats why no1 can believe its alive :O I am in deep shock, but its still a hella v lot better that godzilla i think we can all agree :) looks like abraham has been alive all these yhears and 'jj abrams' was just a cover up!

........Meh. The first few seconds and camera freezes ratched up the tension but then got very boring very quickly. A little bit of witholding/camera tricks really hike up the nerves and get you going but it got too frustrating, and not in the good, anticipatory way. Can see many parodies of it in the future...

I don't think the 'little monsters' are trying to bite the girls head off at 1:07.  They seem to be guys in bio-hazard type suits holding a girl who suddenly expands!!

Could be caused by some parasite released by the monster that infects people and the bloating is the outcome....

 I think it's an elaborate plan by the French. The statue of liberty is the monster and it uses it's own head to thrash cabs. That's why no one believes it's alive.

Either that or Osama took an overdose of Übermass..

 That looks terrible.
I was hoping it'd be something completely different, maybe just something to throw anyone off the scent, but the fact that they are keeping with the boring monster aspect, and of course in America digital cameras for domestic use will have movie quality and long lasting battery life...
Plotholes already.

I agree that after a while that camera work will become a little bit irratating and frustrating as you can not see "the whole picture". It looks interesting and it looks like a few risks are being taken.

...if you wanted to make your film as realistic as possible, you should'nt have worried about shakycam, you shoud have written a script that doesn't contain lines like "whatever it is, it's winning". Seriously, I'm gonna be pissed off when I start to get into the movie being as realistic as possible, only to be brought back down to earth by shoddy lines. And if this shit was happening for real, wouldn't there be a lot more swearing? If a giant concrete head came flying at you, would you say "oh man!", or "holy f**k!"?

i'm not gonna lie, it does look really good, however i do think it has the possibility to be absolute shit. In my opinion it might be good if we never see the monster, that sort of shit would put the film in the history books!!!!
