The Boosh, Fawlty Towers, QI and Blackadder should be top 10. Other than that, not a bad list at all, really.

Everyone always moans at greatest 100 polls because they  never work, they're too often or not filled with the most recent shows/songs/films etc coming top of the lists because they're most fresh in peoples minds.

Seems about the truest thing you can say for this poll.  A few classics such as Fawlty Towers, Porridge, M*A*S*H and  Monty Python.  But seriously missing some great shows like:
- Morecambe and Wise
- The Two Ronnies
- Sherlock Holmes
- Minder
- The World at War
- Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy
- Prime Suspect
- Doogie Howser MD

Why is Family Guy higher than South Park?  That's like saying Date Movie is funnier than Monty Python and the Holy Grail.

Here's how the adult cartoon heiarchy goes:
1.  The Simpsons
2.  South Park
3.  Futurama
4.  castration
5.  Family Guy

Because more people on this forum enjoy Family Guy than they do South Park! Why do people keep asking these questions as though just one person has put together the list!?

Wow, really interesting.

Although I never thought that Firefly would be number 2.  I did however know that The Simpsons would take the crown.  So obvious.

The Office US is a pile of shite though, so god only knows what thats doing there and Spongebob Squarepants? Is this forum for 10 year olds or something?

Sad to see such a lowly position for the genius that is Garth Marenghi's Darkplace, but I suppose it only ran for 6 episodes...Simpsons a deserving winner. But how many crap seasons does it need to have before it slips down the list?

For me, none. The quality and appreciation of the first 9 or so Seasons doesn't drop just because of the later years. I wouldn't start to depreciate Jaws because of the awful sequels. And i totally agree, in a perfect world everyone would know of Garth Marenghi's Darkplace.

There was some good stuff in the list, and some stuff I didn't like too (as expected).  I was just glad to see my favourite TV show of all time made it into the top 10 - The West Wing!  There's been nothing else anywhere close to being half as good as The West Wing; the writing, acting, shooting, editing... awesome.

Aaron Sorkin rules - I thoroughly enjoyed the entire of Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip too, and can't wait to see what he writes next.

Great to see all three of Joss Whedon's shows in the top 10; maybe next year we can add Dollhouse to this?

Buffy in the top 10...yowza thats an odd one for what is basically a cheap pre-pubescent teenagers wet dream sort of programme, but i guess thats the point of these polls they're meant to make you angry beyond belief, which some-guy certainly did with his comment about family guy!
I remember watching a top 100 bands poll on channel 4 like 5 years ago, devoted over 3 hours of my life to it, only for the stone roses to win top spot..over the beatles for gods sake, the stones only ade one decent album then pissed all the money away on crack!
Just goes to show that polls normally are complete nonsense, but at least the west wing made top 10!

Unless Fox cancel it after like 10 episodes or something. Bah.
