OK...I really wanted to get this done and dusted so I'm just going to put the list up at the moment.  If you have made the effort in writing a blurb, then either PM it to me or just post in the thread once this is done and I'll edit it in at a later date.

And there you have it. I have to say, as utterly tedious as the adding up was, it did qet quite exciting towards the end when I realised how close it was. Any woeful errors from me (incorrect numbering, the same show twice, that sort of thing) point them and I'll try and get those sorted as soon as possilbe.

I love Firefly as much as the next guy, but 2nd best show ever? Hmmm. The thing only ran for 18 episodes. Even if each episode was gold, and I don't think that's true, I don't think it could match the countless brilliant episodes of The West Wing, or Buffy, or a lot of other stuff on that list.

Still, good job on the list!

 The Simpsons in the No. 1 spot. It couldn't be any other way. And glad to see Buffy retaining its No. 4 spot and Lost moving down some places.

It actually only ran for 14 episodes. But they were 14 of the most entertaining episodes that have ever graced our TV screens.

Its not Fireflys fault that the muppet executives at fox couldnt see greatness if it came along and tickled there nuts! (maybe nut tickling could have gotten us a season 2...)             *sniffsniff*

I love it when people's only contribution doesn't have anything to do with the topic in hand, instead it's just to have a go at someone.

I voted, so there's a contribution which isn't a complaint. I can have an opinion on greatest 100 polls generally being rubbish can't I? You know forums are all about debating and discussing their opinions whether they be positive or negative opinions.

Everyone always moans at greatest 100 polls because they  never work, they're too often or not filled with the most recent shows/songs/films etc coming top of the lists because they're most fresh in peoples minds.

I was hoping this thread to pool all of those best 'insert criteria here' type threads that crop up every now and then disappear after a few days; just to give it some continuity. However if this in going to be treated with a consistent level of apathy/criticism and there are no objections I'll just unsticky it and it can live or die on its own.

It's interesting to gauge the tastes of the forum at large, but I generally loathe lists even at the best of times, and hoped we could do something with a bit more substance to it.

Band of Brother's doesn't deserve to be behind 24, Lost or Angel(!). In fact it would prob be no1 in my list. But I didn't vote. Cause I didn't notice we were having a poll. Silly me.

Not a bad list but the order is way off. Are you telling me that Black Books is better than Fawlty Towers? Absolute madness. Spaced is also way too high, it's a great modern sitcom but it's not amongst the greatest ever made. The strangest decision is Scrubs at number three. I love Scrubs as much as the next guy but considering it only made 3 decent seasons it's very high.

The drama's are much better in general (probably because I'm not as familiar with this genre). I know Lost probably doesn't deserve to be as high as it is, but it's my favourite show so I'd be happy to see it higher. All the usual suspects (The West Wing, The Sopranos etc) in there where you'd expect them.

And the number 1...as if there was any doubt!
