I've just noticed there is no achievement for completing the single player on Veteran, you can complete it on Hard or Veteran for the achievement. If I just storm through this on Hard am I going to miss any achievement?

 Yes. There are several level based achievements for completing them on veteran. Veteran is a piece of piss anyway Numbers

Indeed it was. Ended up knocking it out on Vet in just under 7 hours. Finale was a bit of a letdown.

I still have not managed to try out any of the top strike packages and that's because I can never get a good streak going. So instead I've changed to the new perks package, or whatever it's called. It's actually not bad. I start with slight of hand, hard line and steady aim. As I have hard line I only need one kill to unlock the 4th perk (scavenger currently). I seem to live longer this way. Well, only a bit longer.

I run Hard Line with Assassin Pro as my first perk awarded on Specialist.

I love the recon drone. Get at least 10 assists per game. I should really run that with Hard Line Pro too

 Witnessed some fine cheating going on the other day, a guy killing people from under the map. It was a snowy one and he was sitting at 45-0 at one point.
I don't know why they bother, it just looks so boring.

Earlier today I played online a bit. In one match I shot killed this guy and I straight away took cover to regain health and to reload. He then popped up really close to me and finished me off while I was still healing and reloading!

They really need to sort out respawning in the game.

 Still haven't played the multiplayer yet, but a mate came round the other day and we had a blast on SURVIVAL!

Call in support from a DELTA team and holding off multiple juggernauts is hairy stuff.

This has to be the worst game in the Call of Duty franchise for Matchmaking and games connection. Unless I'm playing with my normal group of friends I'm constantly thrown into games where I'm the only player who has a positive K/D ratio at the end, then when I'm actually given a half decent team the game kicks me out.

Not to mention the slow motion games that are now popping up all over the place.

NAT is fine. Connections have been okay today but matchmaking is still off. Starting to lose interest in the game now. Apart from it being too similar to MW2 the MP just contains people using the same guns and perks. Nearly every player runs with one of the UMP/Type 95/Scar guns and Assassin/Stalker or Hardline. Really quite linear.

Yeah, I've prestiged and I can't really see myself doing it again.. I don't know if it's my imagination but multiplayer is filled with campers - more than any other COD game!

Also, coop survival and spec ops online are both hit and miss. In about 10 or so games online with randoms only 2 people have played it properly. The others either quit when we were winning, attack me for no reason, or the best of all destroy the sentry guns I've put down to protect us! One guy stopped playing and I had to defend him for 2 or 3 rounds. I put a circle of claymore around him!  Kept him alive until round 12 or something and then he quit.

Can you do that? Emp your own team? It's actually handy to have some kind of way to annoy someone on your side.

For example, today a guy on my team had the N word as his clan name. He used that pc hack to use the RS button logo to make up the word. Anyway, I wanted to do something to him so I chased him around as the match started. I think plan was to try and block him into a corner or something. But then every few seconds someone from the other team would show up and I would shoot him, so in effect I ended up protecting that guy with n word clan for half the match. It was REALLY annoying! he had a shield which made things harder.

 Struggled to get a consistent connection last night. Unless I joined a game mid-way through it would get stuck on the loading screen 'waiting for other players'. After about 2 minutes it would kick back to the menu saying connection to server failed.

Binned it for Game of Thrones anyway.

You can't EMP your own team sadly, just the enemy. It made it even more satisfying since most of them were camping instead of trying to cap in Domination.

I just keep reporting people if they have messed with clan tags etc.

Chief, I ended up getting a few dodgy connections last night after a while. The lag on some of the games was obscene. I'd put bullets into a guy then see on his killcam that I hadn't even landed one.

 Once I was in a game it was fine but when it was loading the next time I'd get kicked. Not had a look on their forums yet to see if there's an issue.

Edit: Another issue; I prestiged in MW2 but haven't been given my token in MW3 - anyone else had this? There was a suggestion that if I delete my MW3 data and play a couple of matches in MW2 that it should "unlock". Would be helpful if I still had the game.....

2 and a half hours I was on tonight. In that time I managed to find 3 games, all of which had awful connections which caused me and my friends to lose comfortably.

Considering the amount of problems people have been having with games over since it's release I find it scandalous that this problem has not been addressed.

Glad to see the FM9 akimbo's are getting nerfed this week. Absolutely ridiculous the range and aiming you can get on them. Still having connection problems but not as badly I was earlier in the week.

 due to me recieving a shed load of cheap points through work i opted to subscribe to elite premium.

Its actually quite good and factoring in that you get all the map packs included in the subscription its a decent deal.

Anyone else using the premium feature as i'm having an issue watching the elite tv shows on firefox. On IE it seems fine, googling it throws up a hige amount of bullshit about everything but the issue.

Anyone?

Finally succumbed to pressure and bought this game. To say I'm a complete newbie is an understatement. RPG's are normally my game of choice.

Played quite a few games over the last few days 45 kills and 130 deaths, is this good for a COD virgin ? because I'm struggling.

Any tips on how to improve my game. Any help, at all would be appreciated !

 It'll get easier! Once you find a weapon and perk combo that suits your style you'll get better. Learning the maps is absolute king, choke points, where people camp and where most of the heavy footfall is.

I'd say play Team Deathmatch as it's not as fast paced as Free For All. Maybe play a bit of the campaign to get a feel for the weapons and get used to the buttons and get your reactions up.
