I can't wait to get it purely for the fact that it annoys me having to watch Champions League football on ITV instead of ITV HD.....

Do we get more channels then???

I didn't know that, I thought it was just a new 'banner' system....

The new EPG has been rolled out on all Thomson and Pace boxes but have encountered several problems with it so the Amstrad and Samsung roll outs have been delayed.

The reports on AV forums aren't very favourable. Slow, not as user friendly and buggy are the main problems.

Not really, you've got to manually search for ITV HD and add it to your programme list. Still, beats watching the worlds best footy in SD....

Meh.....will be waiting an age then. Hopefully they'll have fixed the problems by the time it reaches my Samsung box then

That is the good side to it. Hopefully they will have ironed out the snags and we will be presented with a lovely, shiny EPG that highlights the HD programmes easily and has a working series stacker.

Can anyone tell me how much it costs to upgrade to Sky Sports as the website is down? And also how do I tune in ITV1 HD?

It cost me an extra £9.75, but I threatened to get rid of it and they gave it to me free for 6 months!!
So make sure you ask for a free trial, if you've got HD they'll definitely give it to you for free for a while.

I followed this easy guide. It explains the limitations of ITVHD but shows you how to find it.

I do...not for the EPG, but for ITV HD. Watching the Arsenal game last night in SD was just awful.I don't know how I ever coped watching football before....

It was a terrible picture wasn't it! And at times the pitch was flashing red, blue and green! But I meant I wasn't missing out on the EPG. As it looks shit, just like the old telewest/virgin media ones.

The new EPG is fucking gash. It's worse than what I was expecting.

Really do not like it.

I like the fact that you can highlight HD programmes in orange, you can go more than a couple of days ahead without the 'waiting for listings' pause and the stacking of recordings but it does not seem as intuitive as the old one.

I find myself pressing back up and ending up on something completely different from where I wanted to be.

The new EPG is immense, I'm so disappointed we've been reverted back to the old one (our Sky HD prelaunch Thompson box decided to give in and stop working so had to get it replaced by a Samsung model which doesn't have the new EPG yet). Of course our box was the first to get the new EPG so we'd had it for a long while now it's really weird going back to the old one.

The old EPG is just awful, looks worse than I remember and works worse than I remember, even simple things like being able to select a program in the pop up box and press info no longer works, it just shows the info for the current showing program, useless.

I'd also say I miss ITV HD, but I think I watched that a whole one time.

I think its slower and takes twice as long to navigate.

As for ITV HD. It's a bit shit really. With an average of one show per day, and currently watching Attack Of The Clones, which is only upscaled or a shit transfer, I'm rather disappointed with it.

And the amount of fucking adverts and a news break(!), sent the total running time to 3 hours. Fucking ridiculous!

Well I got an email today telling me I should be getting the new EPG soon, I'm guessing it was a generic email and I'm not getting my hopes up but you never know...at least I've scammed them out of a £10 M&S voucher and a free screening of The Hangover as compensation

You should have the new EPG by the end of the week.

After writing that last night I got home this morning and I have the new EPG, still getting used to it at the moment but it definetly looks better.

Me too!
It appeared Saturday morning.
Slower yes, but... much better imho.
Can scroll the banner and bring up the info on any program without disturbing your viewing.
Very cool. I also love the stacking system for series.
It's a thumbs up from me, and will be even better if they can sort out the slight delay.

Have to agree, the new EPG is far superior to the old one. Being able to go into the planner whist watching a recorded programme is a godsend as well as the banner info. The slight delay can be annoying but definetly worth it in the long run. I don't find it takes longer to navigate either, pretty much the same if you use the numbers.

Called Sky to say we were moving and to give them the new address, and they gave us the sports channels FOC for 2 months.

And what makes it better is that somehow, throughout this duration, our bill will be 5 quids less than normal each month.

I've noticed recently when watching Football on the Sky Sports HD channels there is, what I can only describe as a stutter/shake to the players/ball. It's not constant but only every now and again and sometimes it's worse than at other times? Anyone else having this problem?

It's weird as it doesn't happen on the normal Sky Sports channels but only the HD ones. It's not major but it can be really annoying at times....

Not witnessed this problem myself, so I'd probably say there's a good chance of it being specific to your HD box.

I think I know what you mean. I've seen it happen a few times on mine. Not too bothered though.

Looks like we get ITV1HD as standard from today. Not that I watch anything other than the odd film or football match, but hopefully they increase the content that's shown.
