Anger Managment (2003) I had heard very little in terms of reviews or veiwer reaction about this film and when I noticed it was on Sky last night, wanting something light before bed, I decided to give it a watch. I am glad I did actually as I enjoyed it very much. Now Id be a fool to profess this as a great film or a comedic masterpiece, but in the 100 mins its on it had my full attention and made me laugh out loud several times. Sandler was playing his role as the lead quite conservatively which was a hinderance to some scenes as the guy's acting skills were shown up. Nicholson was brilliant as the seemingly devious and scheming Doctor. The chemistry between the two was what drove the film but I couldn't help get the feeling that Nicholson was 'carrying' Sandler in the partnership with the latter just hanging on the great mans beard. As for the laughs, there are plenty. There is a funny blend of supporting characters, plenty of running jokes and overall its a solid script. The ending is quite clever. Just when you think the writers have went for a cop out ending they pull a big suprise, well two big suprises, which makes the movie that bit more satisfying If you get the chance see it. 6.5/10
