I've also bought a fair few Marvel Masterworks in the past couple of months.

I had a 10 Amazon voucher burning a hole in my pocket, so I went on a bit of a Kindle store binge at bought:

The Great Gatsby, F Scott Fitzgerald
Catch 22, Joseph Heller
The Rats, James Herbert
Lair, James Herbert
Doman, James Herbert
Others, James Herbert

Wasn't too sure what to get really - as much as I like the Kindle and Amazon generally, it really isn't the same as a physical book shop for browsing and randomly spotting something you like the look of. However, I noticed a lot of Hebert's books were quite cheap, so thought I'd try some old school British horror! I think I read The Fog years ago when I also liked Shaun Hutson's stuff - thought I'd re-live my youth a bit with some gory horror, no doubt laced with overly graphic shagging...

*Spoilers* Even (what, 25?) years on, I still remember well The Slugs and a scene where a couple are shagging. Only to be eaten by slugs. Genius. Now no one likes the slimey critters much, but a salt cellar and the ability to move at anything above a snail's pace would seem to keep you safe.

One of Herbert's Rats books. I think it must be Domain. Is actually imo very good. The subversive ideas on why the Jubilee line took longer and more budget to complete are very appealing.

I can't do images, so can't put up the cover. But I bought Spade & Archer. A prequel to Maltese Falcon. How did I never know this existed!!!????

Picked up some free books as part of my internship. Hey, if I'm not getting paid then at least I get some reading material.

Wasn't actually planning on buying The Casual Vacancy but after a shit day (and shit week for that matter) I went for a (pathetically limited) bit of retail therapy. Saw it was half price so thought I'd give it a go.

No idea, I haven't received it from Amazon yet. All I know is that it's a 544 page book written by Whedon to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the show.

It's currently half price at Amazon for 17.50:
