The Expendable Man - Dorothy B Hughes. It's the normal grey cover, but the pic they give you is the designer endpaper.

Was pleasantly surprised to find out this had been reprinted, as £80 second-hand was a bit out of my price range. £9.49 new was a lot more palatable. Looking forward to starting it this week

AMAZON just lost out on money from me. I had a hankering to read LEAGUE OF EXTRAORDINARY GENTLEMAN VOLUME TWO last night, as I'd only read Volume One before, and so I first browsed through iBooks and then Kindle online stores. I was pleased to see LXG V2 offered for 10 dollars on the Kindle store, but then when I went to buy it it refused to sell it to me because I don't own a "Kindle FIRE". Why on earth would I want to read a comic on a 7 inch screen? I have a KINDLE APP on my iPad, and it's sure going to do a better job with the comic than a FIRE would. So, in the end, AMAZON lost out on the sale and I bought it in hardcover at 1/2 the price from a third party reseller.

Nice one, AMAZON. iPads account for 60% of all tablets sold in the last year. It makes no sense to write off that market.

The Key by Simon Toyne. Sequel to the decent Sanctus. Very cinematic in feel...
