I've decided to start reading Jeffery Deaver's Lincoln Rhyme books... Seen The Bone Collector once or twice and it was ok, but the real reason is I read Deaver's short story The Therapist and it was a brilliant piece of crime fiction. I hope the full novels are just as good. You can't turn in a bookshop for detective series' and a lot are just predictable and full of bland characters so i'm taking a bit of a risk...

I read that last month. I loved it, even though I'm not a fan of books written in the first person.

It's a jam sponge.

I was hoping for spotted dick.

I did in fact make a Devonshire Honey Cake, and it was immense.

I purchased this yesterday.
Having loved the film so much, I thought it only polite to buy the book....

I've never really been interested before but I've had the sudden urge to give these a proper try next year - probably bacause I'm 30 in January and feel like I ought to have given them a go by now!

Given my poor success rate with fantasy, I went for charity shop bargains - 1.99 for LotR and, a personal best, 30p for The Hobbit!

I quite like fantasy stuff but I found them pretty tough going. All the singing and stuff wasn't for me.

So all the best!

Probably doesn't bode well for me as I'm not massively into fantasy (although when nobody is around, I quite like singing) - I don't mind Harry Potter/His Dark Materials kiddie type stuff but I've never really got into the elves and fairies and eskimos type fantasy worlds!  So I'm not completely certain as to why I decided to give them a go...

Sorry, I couldn't resist some mild plagiarism from The Simpsons there!
