We have similar threads for DVDs and music, so why not books? I did a search to see if there was such a thread but I couldn't find anything. If there is, I apologise.

Anyway, I bought all of these yesterday.

These are ones I've added to my library in the last month or so.

Don't laugh!

I have no idea when I'll get to read them all

bought these on my last browse through Waterstones about a month ago.

Excellent book - history, character study, war, love all rolled into one

Short, sharp and very good indeed

Heard a lot of good things about Mankell so decided to try this - very good so far.

Been a while since i read any fantasy so this one is next up.

It's a long one, so might wait for my next holiday

If the picture doesn't work it's Musashi by Eichi Yoshikawa, a bit of an epic read - but well worth it.

Quicksilver by Neal Stephenson (just started this so don't really have anything to say about it yet) and

Before they are hanged by Joe Abercrombie which is also great!

Just ordered Blood Meridian by Cormac McCarthy; supposed to be very good.

I'm cutting down on buying or taking out books from the library until I've reduce the number of unread books on my shelf.

I think you should read this first Amelie_Scotland - you can't beat a bit of Wyndham!   Plus I always have been a huge fan of the film with Howard Keel and the 1980s UK series!

Also slipcase, limited edition, signed Robin Hobb's Shaman's Crossing.  Haven't uploaded my pictures yet.

Ian Rankin: The Naming of The Dead. Penultimate Rebus Novel. Cracking stuff.

David Gemmell: Shield of Thunder.

I would have bought Rankin's Exit Music and the final part of Gemmell's Troy trilogy but I'm a tight git and will wait for the paperbacks.

I also recently got Homer's Odyssey. Very good it is too.
