Oh how I envy you there!

I went to See Bjork Tonight. Stunning, but I am curious... what drives people to spend £40 on a ticket and then during the slower songs speak very loudly to their friends about things that surely could wait But besides that she was amazing! Such a wonderful voice.

Finally gave up on trying to book tickets for Massive Attack at the Meltdown Festival after an hour of the website repeatedly crashing while at work yesterday morning, but managed to get tickets for the Heritage Orchestra performing Vangelis' Blade Runner soundtrack mixed by Massive Attack at the same festival instead.

Sebadoh were good. Lou Barlow managed to play the whole gig and not storm off halfway through in a strop like he did the last time I saw them back in the 90s, they all looked as if they got on well together, they had a good crack with the crowd and were pretty funny, and they played really well. I would have liked a few more tunes from Bakesale, but they played my 2 favourite songs (Soul and Fire and Freed Pig), plus they closed with with Gimme Indie Rock. But because they played for 2 hours, and most of their songs are only about 2 minutes long, they must have played close to 50 songs, so it did seem to drag a bit. But in all it was a decent gig.

With regards to people speaking during your Bjork gig - I would have been so pissed off if they'd done that at Manchester. When she first came on it didn't seem that the crowd were really appreciating her, but after the first couple of tunes it seemed the whole crowd were into it. During Cocoon I looked around and saw people with tears in their eyes, it was that beautiful. I was just grinning like a twat. And everyone went fucking mental when it went off during Hyperballad, and then went into Pluto. Three weeks on and I am still buzzing from that gig.

Went to see Battles in Vicar St. last night, which was brilliant. Best gig I've been to in months.

On Monday I'm going to Animal Collective, Tuesday I've got Broken Social Scene (and I might go to No Age afterwards), and on Thursday I'm going to see Bruce.

26th May: Times New Viking, Andrew's Lane Theatre
2nd June: Bon Iver, Crawdaddy
13th June: Low, Andrew's Lane Theatre
17th June, Liars & Deerhunter, Koko
21st June: Liars, Andrew's Lane Theatre
29th June: My Bloody Valentine, Manchester Apollo
13th July: Earth, Whelan's
30th July: Tom Waits, Phoenix Park (fingers crossed)

Cheers, yeah I just watched that video, which has now got my slightly worried that if he does play England he will be playing when I am at benacassim, which would be rather irritating, if he only plays Dublin..... well, I would be very very tempted to take the day off work and go over there I have to say!

I'm seeing Hadouken! on Wednesday and The Wombats on Friday.

Also have The Courteeners and Ash lined up who are playing their debut album in its entirety.

Nevermind. Because this happened:

quote:

"Animal Collective with support from Atlas Sound will perform at Whelan’s tonight.

Doors 10.30pm, €15 on the door,

No tickets for the cancelled Tripod concert will be valid for this show

Refunds for the cancelled Tripod show available through usual channels

No reservations, just pay at the door"

Whelan's is about a third the size of the original venue, and this gig was likely the best I've been to in about 7 months, if not more.

The Police in June sometime. It was a snap decision one morning and we ended up spending 80 pounds on tickets for the "golden circle". We arent even that big fans.

Damn you!  I would have went had they come to Scotland.  They are disbanding again after this reunion tour which is crap, you feel cheated.  But have a good time .

Thankyou. Hopefully I know enough of their songs so I dont feel entirely guilty about being there.

Stars of the Lid is on Thursday which should be good as it coincides with my final critique at university. Going to see Kylie is a bit of a weird one, but I got my girlfriend tickets for her Christmas.

3 Dublin shows and 2 Edinburgh shows are the only ones he's doing in the UK and Ireland.

I'd try and get you a ticket when I'm getting mine (hopefully) next week, but it's looking a bit dodgy with the way Ticketmaster are doing this:

quote:

Tickets will be limited to 2 per person.
A valid I.D (passport or driving licence) is required at time of purchase.
A valid I.D (passport or driving licence) matching the name on the ticket is required at entry to venue.
All tickets will be scanned for validation on entry to the show
Any tickets resold will be refused entry to the venue
Only tickets purchased from official Ticketmaster outlets will be valid
No resale allowed under any circumstances

Steve Earl Sucked when I saw him, spent more time talking about the Dealth Penalty then playing music. He did a few good tracks, Copperhead Road, My Old friend the blues.
