I'm still in two minds as to whether it's going to work. However if Hodge can develop the screenplay to something that is worthy enough to continue the story of these great characters then i'm all for it.

Excellent book which will transfer well to the big screen. Not worthwhile pursuing minus the Jedi, though.

it will only work if they get everyone back i am sure sick boy and johnny lee miller would come back but the rest i am not sure Ewan is a big shot now and his agent might advise him not to do it also Boyle should have cast him in beach so i don't blame Ewan for being mad .Boyle well he's 50/50 i am sure he would love to do porno but he also is big and could be given the chance of bigger films from Hollywood .Andrew well to be honest is a great director/producer and is friends with Boyle also was part of sunshine so if boyle did it he would to.Robbie would do it because he just gets bit parts and it would be chance to act good again

dont understand why mcgregor was so mad about not being cast in the beach. does boyle have to cast him in all his films or something !!!

i understand imagine been dropped for Di caprio who at the time was a crap actor also it was a chance for Mcgregor to be seen by hollywood without an accent that needed subtitles

I think McGregor was pissed about getting dropped from the Beach because Danny Boyle had already told him he'd wanted him in the film. But I imagine it's a row that's been blown a bit out of proportion; I'm sure McGregor has said that if the script was good he'd work with Boyle again.

As for the film, it'd need the original gang to work, I agree. But I haven't read the book, so I can't comment on whether it'd be any good or not. Mind you, I wouldn't have thought Trainspotting would make a good film, so convoluted and literary was the novel. Hopefully they can pull this all off! Certainly, McGregor could do with a meaty role these days.
