During the 'HEROES' Q&A at ComicCon this spin-off was announced, intially a 6show run, with seperate writers & directors to the main series, cos they wouldnt have time to fit it into their schedules!
Click the link below to see who has nabbed directing duties on at least one of the 'Origin' episodes...

*edit* Mods, if this is elsewhere, feel free to shut this down! Merci!

Want to use this thread for S2 US as well?

Random thoughts:
1. Milo's had his hair cut; I nearly didn't recognise him.
2. I reckon Jack Coleman could have Zach Qunito in a fight.
3. Tim Kring seems younger than he used to.
4. Ali Larter would have been ideal for Carol Danvers/Ms. Marvel.

That is all.

You know what? Looking at the build on the guy, I'd say you are right (though he is sitting down)

Ah, Kevin Smith, you big geek, you. He takes Ali Larters seat as well. Hayden really needs to pay attention to whats happening rather than talk to Milo and his new 'do

There's already a US S2 thread, but I shouldn't have to tell a mod this

I thought that about Milo, I didn't recognise him either so I thought it must be new guy for season 2

No! I'm losing my powers!

I was clearly distracted by the fact that Hayden appears to have pierced ears, which would obviously be difficult for Claire to maintain as, presumably, the skin would grow back.

Maybe she had them pierced before her powers began to appear?

Hey, it's really shaky footage of season 2! From Comic-Con! (But it's also pretty good, and has obvious SPOILERS!)

Character backgrounds, extra stories.  It's all canon, and some of it goes pretty in depth to the 'mysteries' of the show and stuff, others are just little character moments.  The quality does vary, though.  They'll be continuing in season 2.  Right now, they're still updating it every Tuesday with a new part, right through Summer, although the quality of the ones since the season ended has been dodgy, because the actual writers aren't diectly involved anymore, just with storylines.   They're extra, not exactly essential stuff, but parts of it are very cool indeed.

Heh, the screaming fans were funny. Great atmosphere.
Looks awesome.

The whole panel is up on youtube, and I think on the NBC site. Best part: Zach's answer to his favourite moment of the show.  He's been on the internets.

Some info on Kristen Bell joining the cast:

http://www.superherohype.com/news/topnews.php?id=6223

http://community.tvguide.com/blog-entry/TVGuide-Editors-Blog/Ausiello-Report/Exclusive-Kristen-Bell/800020731

quote:

Congrats on the Heroes gig! Is this some kind of evil plot of yours to send fanboys over the edge?
Kristen Bell:
Absolutely. It is all part of my plan for world domination — and by "world," I mean Fanboy World.

How did the gig come about? It's no secret that you've been fielding many offers, including from Lost.
Bell:
Obviously, I was in an extremely lucky position. I've kind of felt like I've been on a sugar high the last couple of weeks. Having any of those options… it still feels surreal. How do you make the decision between [Lost and Heroes]? Basically, being able to stay in [Los Angeles] was a little bit of a factor for me [in terms of turning down Lost]. But I was honored to even be considered by Lost. I really, really was, because I love that show. But I have social relationships with a lot of the people who work on Heroes, through so many random connections. It was sort of funny that so many of my friends had been working on this show. I spent a lot of time with a few of them at Comic-Con. I was actually sitting on the train [back from San Diego] with Zachary Quinto and Masi Oka, and some of the writers were on the train and they were like, "Hey, if you ever want to come on Heroes, give us a call!" And I sort of joked back, "I'd love that!" Later on I said to Zach, "Hey, if they were serious, I would love to work with you guys." And somehow, somebody made it happen.

Wait a second — you ride the train?!
Bell:
[Laughs] Yeah, coming back from Comic-Con; none of us drove because the traffic was so bad. So we just took the three-hour train ride back.

Weren't you mobbed by fans?
Bell:
No way! Are you kidding me? No one recognizes me.

Seriously?
Bell:
I'm dead serious. It's rare.

Was part of the appeal of doing Heroes the fact that it's a limited gig, thus allowing you to keep your career options open?
Bell:
That's certainly not a bad point. I am kind of in the luckiest position possible, because they're allowing me to leave it open-ended. So, yeah, that was extremely appealing. Also, everyone I know who is involved in Heroes has had nothing but excellent things to say about what it's like to work there or for Tim Kring and Co. I received a phone call before I even knew that the deal was done from Tim and a few of his partners in crime and — I should probably keep this confidential but — it might've been the nicest phone call I've ever gotten. I think there was almost a point where I fell out of my chair.

How many episodes are you committed for?
Bell:
I think I'm doing 13 as of now.

Is it possible that could be extended?
Bell:
I don't know. Technically, I'm on for the first half of the season, but who knows?

Would you be open to sticking around longer?
Bell:
I think I might be. I'm kind of excited to go into this family, because doing a new show always feels a little like switching schools; it's exciting but it's also really nerve-racking. But this feels like I'm transferring to a school that all of my friends already go to.

Will this interfere in any way with your voice-over duties on Gossip Girl?
Bell:
They are both willing to work around each other, so I'll be very busy this fall.

Anything you can tell me about your character Elle that wasn't in the press release? [We know that Elle has ties to the supposed death of Peter, H.R.G.'s past and Claire's future.]
Bell:
I know a a lot. I think I know everything. But I think the only things that are allowed to be [out there] are what was in the press release. It's going to be a really, really fun character — that much I can tell you.

There's buzz that you might be the show's new baddie since Zachary will be taking off to do Star Trek.
Bell:
That is a possibility. It's going to be fun for me to see where she goes. I kind of hope so. It would be really nice to play the bad guy.

Do you have a power?
Bell:
Yeah, I do. I have a really awesome power.

I'm so excited I think I might wet myself.

Anybody have any further info on Richard Schiff guest starring in Season 2 apart from this interview with Sendhil Ramamurthy (Mohinder):

quote:

Ramamurthy reveals that there will be a number of new faces in the second season. "In particular, there's one new actor coming up who I'm so excited to work with: Richard Schiff, who played Toby Ziegler on The West Wing," he enthuses. "His character is going to have a profound effect on mine. I have no idea where they'll take it, but it's going to be cool and to work with an actor of his calibre is going to be great."

Richard Schiff and Kristen Bell! I can't wait!!

As excited as am I about season 2, I'm a bit worried that they're going about it all wrong. The cast is in it's thousands now, every few days I hear of another person joining the show. It's very cool that Kristen Bell is going on the show, but how much of her are we going to see? She's going to have to fight for screen time against the rest of the cast. A major problem with Season 1 were that there were too many characters, and the last episode of the show showed how pointless a lot of them turned out to be. I just hope they know what they are doing, and don't get swept away by their own hype. Season 1 was great, but it was by no means perfect. And that last episode sucked.

Season 2 will hopefully kick a lot of ass

Fair enough, didn't seem to find this thread when I searched for it though, oh well.....

As for Origins

quote:

It will start at the end of April and run all the way into May, as announced at Comic Con '07.

I was initially watching this BBC speed, although once I found out about Season Two's air date I ended up watching half a series in about two days, so I'm really looking forward to this now, especially with Chuck airing before it.
