If that's correct then it gets released on the same day as Abercrombie's Red Country. I'll have to book a couple of days off work if both are indeed released on the same day.

I first heard of TLOLL through this here thread and have been desperate for TROT since I finished RSURS. But I've been following Scott Lynch on Twitter and he has said that nothing is confirmed til you hear it from him or directly from his publisher. I really hope this is true but I just wish it was based on something a bit more concrete than an Amazon date.

I truly hope you're right Hobbsy but there's nothing on his twitter feed, nothing on the publisher's website and nothing on Waterstones

Amazon are now saying 13th July 2013.

I think the dates are quite random as there hasn't been anything from Gollancz or Lynch's blog.

This website has got The Republic Of Thieves down as 21 March 2013

http://www.orionbooks.co.uk/Books/detail.page?isbn=9780575099586

That's the first time I've seen that date and The Orion Publishing Group owns Gollancz.

I for one am very, very excited about this.

Oh and just noticed it has a page count! 488 pages that must mean it is in their hands and complete if they know how many pages it's got mustn't it. It must mean that, please let it mean that.

God I hope that's correct. I loved the first two books with The Lies of Locke Lamora being the best book I read last year.

I know, I've read all the extracts that you can find online, a prologue and the first chapter I think and it's brilliant just as good as the others based on what I've seen.

Also on Amazon''s Scott Lynch page with a release date of 1 March 2015:

Could the long-promised prequels finally be seeing the light of day? The blurb on the page confirms that it includes the tale of how they acquired the Austershalin brandy that featured in the first book, but is there a second, previously unreported tale there too? Either way, yay!!

I've about a third of RoT left to read now (I've been taking it slowly on purpose to ensure I didn't miss anything!), and so far it has been absolutely brilliant. The long-awaited Sabetha back-story was well worth the wait, and the plot continues to have more twists and turns than a slinky on a rollercoaster. If you haven't picked it up yet, do yourself a favour and grab it!

I'm about 80% through and loving it.

Guess who got to meet Scott Lynch at the weekend in Brighton and get his copy of Lies signed.

I'm gutted I missed the Brighton convention as although they're not normally my cup of tea I'd have made the effort to see Mr Lynch.

I've really enjoyed the book so far and will probably finish in the next day or two. It will be good to have a proper catch up when everyone on here's read it.

On the home straight now...enjoyed it but some of the interludes with the play dragged on a bit. I think it might benefit from a re-read

Same here, got a little over 100 pages left. I've loved it so far, I've enjoyed the Interlude as much as the "present day" stuff myself. I'm not too sure about the direction the story has just taken though, I'll have to see how that plays out.

I finished it last week and loved it. I think I'll leave it a few days before discussing spoilers.
