(Caster is suddenly very glad he didn't waste hours decrypting puzzles that weren't even connected to the movie).

Let's just hope they don't think 'ooh we're onto a good marketing campaign' and then blow their wad too early.  A couple more teasers would do me, but this current tread of putting blogs up for films as they're made and drowning people in information does nothing for me.

I applaud the makers of Cloverfield for remembering that less is more.  Let's hope they see it through.

One of the "official" sites. If you have seen the trailer, you would have seen a guy with the Slusho logo on his T-shirt.
Check it out and go to history.
www.slusho.jp.
Seems we are dealing with some sort of Sea monster.....

Being bored at work I had a look at the trailer in HD, looking for clues like the SLUSHO one.  I was randomly typing in anything that I saw written, such as the licensce plate of the SUV seen on the street as the Statue Of Libery comes rolling along.  ABZ 3293 gives this website... what yer reckon? Is it linked?

http://www.abz3293.com/

I've not really had a gander round the site, I'm not very good at these viral marketing things.  Some people have left comments to suggest it may be.  Fun isn't it?!

Dunno if Im wasting my time here but, I read the history story on the Slusho site, typed in the name of the creator of Slusho into google and there is a screenplay by her on IMDb I have trawled through a couple of reviews on her romantic comedy by Dick Steel and SCI-Fi dude and they both mention a free video after the end credits which will interest you! Im stuck now

Some good stuff is popping up on the Rotten Tomatoes forum in regards to the character of Rob. Something about him knowing this was going to happen from his body language when the first roar is heard. Seems quite cool.

Yeah, James ..it gets curiouser and curiouser.....not your ordinary monster movie!!!

So Rob knew this was going to happen to New York, (just didnt know WHEN?) and thats why he was fucking off to Japan? Clever man in my book, if only he'd got out in time!
As someone says in the trailer: "Looks like you shoulda left town a little earlier!"

AND who the fuck has the camera? Do we EVER get to see whoever has the camcorder? Hmmmmm

I think there's plenty of clues in the trailer for people to get manic over, especially quotes...

"Whats that noise?" "Sounded like an animal!"
"What animal sounds like that?"
"I saw it, its alive, its huge!"

Also, I'm trawling through the trailer looking for clues.
Where the Statue Of Liberty head hits that building, it says '401' right where it impacts.
As the Statue of Liberty head lands on the taxi, theres a roadsign on the right of the screen with something written on the back of it, looks like 'Dead...' something! Anyone know?

Alright, now this is THE WEIRDEST link I've found so far...

http://www.thehansofoundation.org/

Click on the link, let it load, you get a statement from Alvar Hanso.
Hover your cursor over the word 'happiness', first line of the second paragraph, and try and hear whats being said! I've made out a few words like 'Virus', and "Huminatiy needed me, now more than ever!" but with the eerie background music etc, its difficult to make things out! See what you can do!

I don't think it's connected.  The Hanso Foundation is a website for Lost.

Hmmm.  When I watched Transformers and this was one of the trailers, I thought it looked cool BUT... I didn't see the mystery.  I thought it was about a huge robot.

Trailer was okay but the title of the film is rubbish. It sounds like the name of a margerine brand

Will the trailer be shown before Transmorphers over here as well? I was thinking about this while watching the trailers on Order of the Phoenix and I realised that the date won't make sense to a lot of people as we use DD/MM/YYYY not MM/DD/YYY. Now I know a lot of people are educated enough to realise it's an American date but there're are still a few who won't. Plus, if the date is shown does that mean it's getting a simultaneous worldwide release? Because, if that is the release date and not the name of the film then if it isn't getting a simultaneous worldwide release that will make even less sense!

And I'd like to know how he knows this?
That link he put in to the Kirk Montgomery / 9News site goes someway to backing up those links I posted yesterday, regarding the Bloop.

quote:

The source told Kirk the biggest clue of the trailer is in the line: "I saw it, it's alive, it's huge."
The source also says the sound the "creature" makes is another big clue. He says the creature is an organic, living thing.

Only something huge could have made that 'bloop' sound. It all ties in somewhere...

I for one can't wait, this is probably due to my restless nature, that and the drugs and Attention Defecit Disorder.
Screen it for me now JJ Abrams. NOW

The trailer played in front of "Transformers" on Saturday afternoon and it was great to finally see it on a big screen, but slightly annoying to see the '18-01-08' date replaced by a more non-commital '2008'.

Wow, thanks a lot Paramount...

Ok ok ok.....firstly, some behind the scenes footage - Click here. Lots of people running away from something and military vechicles heading towards something.

Also Paramount has bought the domain name - http://www.themonstrousmovie.com/

Will it be part of the promo campaign? Is it the title?

Also some comingsoon.net user has some VERY blurry pictures of the teaser poster.

Anyway, I was at a large booth where they sell movie posters. One of the posters there had a snapshot of the statue of liberty overlooking the city of new york. The statue was missing it's head and at the top in large white letters it said "Monstrous". The lower right corner had in smaller white letters, 1-18-08.

Fake? I dunno but that is what I saw. I also snapped some cell phone pics and if possible i'll try to upload them.

Yeah, me too! I saw the trailer at a preview screening of Transformers on Sunday and thought I was gonna be the first guy to tell everybody about something really cool and everybody would think I was really cool too. Oh well.

This is the movie with "Rob The Main Dude" and the Statue of Liberty's head landing on his street, right?

Seems to have been nothing we didn't already know.

The way they are talking about it, I get this sense that the creature is something we are already familar with in popular culture. Maybe from books or old films - I just get this feeling we are all going to get the legs pulled from under us when whatever it is shows itself.

A bit more news coming from Cloverfield over at AICN  Clicky

Including,

Quint back again. Abrams made a joke on the panel saying, "Who here thinks it's called MONSTROUS?" (Cheers) "Well, it's not!" Then he unveiled the poster above, minus the name. Those dirty sneaky bastards...
