Finished it tis morning. I'm still mulling over whether or not I like the ending. I probably do. I juyst need to take it all in.

Episode four and fives are my favourite episodes though especially the Old Gods of Ragnarok stage show beign a particular highlight along with the journey through Bright Falls at the beginning of episoe five.

It put me mind of L4D2

Just picked up Alan Wake again after quite a long break away from it. I think I'm somewhere in the middle of chapter 3!? I'd forgotten how much fun it was and played for a couple of hours yesterday. I'm now about to use some machinery to get out of the silver mines.

I'm still yet to start my nightmare playthrough, i dont have much hope in getting all the manuscript pages, thermoses or chests though which is a little disheartening. Some levels really drive you forward via the use of constantly spawning enemies etc. which can make searching for hidden items really difficult.

Just finished it. Over all I really liked it, good action, story and visuals and sound. The ending was a wtf for me too, i have no idea what happened there. Also missed two, yes two flasks so I'd be buffered if I'm going to go through it again.

All in all though, thumb up!

The Signal is out tomorrow isn't it? Got a free code for it when I bought it so hopefully I'll be playing it soon.

I watched a trailer for it before. Not too sure about it.

I'll put it in white incase you don't want to know my concerns

From what I've seen and read it carries on after the ending with Alan aware it s in his head. This time you collect ammo and flares and defeat the Taken via shining your torch on words like the end of the first game. Apparently it says thngs like fireworks etc. One plus point was however the reviewer said it was scarier than the first game if not very long.

trailer for ti is here http://www.gametrailers.com/video/e3-2010-alan-wake/101250

EDIT: I see I've been beaten to it!

Yeah im looking forward to the action but im really not a fan of metaphysical stuff and that was my least favourite aspect about Wake, all the 'is it real' 'is it not real' crap. I prefer everything to be real, not all in dreams etc.

Looking forward to playing The Signal, but I've loaned my copy of Alan Wake , so I'm not going to get to play this for a while. Weak.

I'm not sure if there's any science behind it, but it seems to be late morning/lunchtime that new demos and DLC appears....

I used my redeem code the other day and they said that I'd be sent an email with my code on it when it's released. I haven't had the code yet and I guess I won't until the dlc is released.

I'd already used my code back when this DLC didn't have a release date, anyway, tried the code again this morning, worked fine and I have the DLC installed on my HDD.

Yeah it's been up for about 2 hours, you can't buy it yet, it's on there at 560 points but when you select it it says info not available, but if you have a code you can redeem it and download it.

Done it on normal and thought it was great. Missed one bloody cut out and 5 clocks! Going through on nightmare and then mopping up. Short but quite enjoyable and it all ties in well with the main game.

Just completed this after renting it. I really liked it and I was expecting not to. Im not a great fan of Max Payne, I thought they were well written but there was nothing much to the gameplay. I thought this was going to be a generic survial horror but was pleasantly suprised. Really liked how the story panned out. Collecting the manuscripts really fleshed out the game world and its characters. Graphics were brilliant and it was very atmospheric.

I couldn't help but have Garth Marengi's Dark Place playing through my head as I played through. The whole Stephen King Schtick and all the refrences to darkness. Probably watered down alot of the horror elements.

Perfect rental. Though I probably won't be revisiting it for DLC.

The dlc has picked up a bit actually. Maybe i was a little harsh. They HAVE tried to make it too hard though. The gameplay combat mechanics are not designed for the volume of enemies they throw at you this time, and it makes combat much more annoying as the torch and gun system just doesnt cut it now. They need to take a step back when it comes to the hoardes of enemies methinks.

Cardboard cutout achievement just popped up! I must be near the end. I also got the one for not using a vehicle pretty easily too.

Just finished The Signal. t'was alright, but continuing in the vain of my least favourite chapter from the main game, chapter 6. I kind of resent the fact that the makers feel like nothing has to make sense and as long as it's weird, then they've done the right thing. It was enjoyable enough though.
