Another GH question. I've completed it with lead guitar and am now trying the bass but keeping missing the purple note that goes across the neck on songs like One I Love by REM. What do I have to press to get this note correctly?

They're open notes. Strum with no buttons held down.

Semi-related to Rock Band....

I saw Guitar Hero World Tour in Asda earlier tonight for £10. Not sure if this is nationwide.

(360 and PS3)

Cheers for the heads up! Went out and picked it up on PS3 today. You can also get it with guitar for £35. Bargainlicious.

There's also talk of a U2 Rock Band too. Apparently U2 were approached before Beatles Rock Band came out and they were dead against it. But having seen how well The Beatles game turned out and how much respect and care was taken to get it just right U2 are now wholely keen on the idea. I'm not much of a fan of recent U2 output but playing along to The Joshua Tree will be a great expereince indeed.

Hello Beatle fans. Some nuggets have pissed about in the Beatles Rock Band review thread and given it 1 star because Empire are reviewing games, 'Guitar Hero 5 is da best' and the review was apparently crap. I'm gonna give it five stars to try and address the balance and I hope you will too. Here's the link:

Whats with the idiot on there calling Rock Band the Guitar Hero ripoff.

Correct me if I am wrong but didn't Harmonix develop the original GH?

God, I hate the original Rock Band controller. That strum bar sucks.

So, has anyone else downloaded Abbey Road for Beatles Rock Band?

Its great! You can even play the whole side 2 medley in a oner - pretty knackering on hard drums, not attempted it on expert yet though.

I'm not getting the game 'til Xmas. I can't wait. I am going to download Abbey Road next week though. What album is coming out next?

[EDIT]: Sgt. Pepper in November and Rubber Soul in December! Huzzah!

As long as we get Revolver at some point it won't be that bad. Although most of the best songs from off of Revolver are on the base disc.

Will 'All You Need Is Love' ever come out on PSN or is it always going to be a 360 exclusive? I was watching one video review the other day (can't remember which) and they said it was a timed exclusive but I aint heard nowt about it so far.

All Ive heard is that exact thing - its a timed exclusive, but with the projected sales thing in mind, Harmonix may not bother if itll only make them a loss. It takes quite alot of time and expense to convert a song into a RB track, moreso on The Beatles

Sgt. Pepper's Loneley Hearts Club Band was released yesterday for Xbox/Wii and will be available for PS3 tomorrow!

Also, according to Wiki 'All You Need Is Love' will be released on PSN on 10th December!

Rubber Soul is released this week for £7.49 (PSN) or 1440 MS points. Hopefully it won't be the last DLC we get.

The internet.

More specifically on Eurogamer:

quote:

ORIGINAL: Eurogamer news

Punk poppers Green Day are set to follow in the footsteps of The Beatles with a new Rock Band spin-off.
The game was announced during the Spike Video Game Awards at the weekend. The three members of Green Day made the reveal in a video and a subsequent press released confirmed the game for PS3, Wii and Xbox 360. Unlike The Beatles: Rock Band, Green Day: Rock Band's tracklist will be fully exportable to Rock Band and Rock Band 2.
Green Day formed at the end of the eighties and caught the public's eye with album Dookie, released in 1994. "Basket Case" was the best known of the songs. The band plateaued at the turn of the century but rocketed back with American Idiot in 2004.
The new game will whisk players through a sight-seeing tour of the band's career, taking in venues and attractions and musical influences along the way.
Green Day: Rock Band is due out next year.

So there you go. I doubt it will be as full on as The Beatles one though. It'll probably be more comparable with AC/DC: Rock Band and be a glorified expansion pack.

Does anyone know where the cheapest place to get a stand alone PS3 guitar from? I'm getting the Beatles: Rock Band premium for xmas so I'll have Paul's Hofner bass but I want a second guitar as well. Ideally I'd like one of the other Beatles' guitars but they're quite dear. Also, as pretty as the Beatles ones are I actually prefer the guitar hero ones as they just feel better and more comfortable.

CEX are doing GH3 Wireless guitars for £18 and World Tour guitars for £20.  Cheapest I've seen standalone, but they are preowned.

In that case, you should be fine.  I got a 360 WT one last month online and it turned up in good condition.  Bear in mind, for the extra £2, you get the touch sensitive buttons on the neck with the WT controller.

HMV seem cheapest for this kinda thing right now.

Guitar Hero metallica w/guitar is 30.00, world tour drums are 30.00, world tour disk is 8.00

Rock band beatles value pack is 59.99 in store or 44.99 online (but they only have wii left online)

Does anyone know if a PS2 wireless Guitar Hero: World Tour guitar (the one with the button things on the neck) will work on a PS3 with all PS3 Guitar Hero and Rock Band games? Only I've seen one brand new in HMV for £20.

The separate Beatles guitars look quite cheap online. The George Harrison Gretsch is £29.99 for 360 on hmv.com. Very tempted by this.

I ended up getting the standard Rock Band one for £19.95 from Blockbuster. After getting used to playing the Rock Band guitars now I actually prefer them to the Guitar Hero ones. The fret buttons are much easier to press, especially using your pinky.
