 Just seen the price for the premium edition... €200? And you have to buy George and John's guitars separately (an extra €100 each)? Blimey. Might sell my current RB drum kit and buy the premium set, probably won't bother with the guitars. The first few reviews have been incredibly positive though.

 In all the Guitar Heros and Rock Bands theres a lefty flip option, plus in this one theres an acheivment if you play a song left handed on bass (ala Macca)

 I'm seriously considering getting this for Xmas but I looked at the track listing on Wikipedia and my two favourite The Beatles songs (Hey Jude and Let It Be) aren't on there! WTF the fuck!?!?! Will they be available as DLC anytime? If so, ho much are they likely to cost? Also, should I get it for Microsoft Xbox360 or Sony PlayStation PS3?

 They're releasing one album a month as DLC from October, so you should be able to get Let It Be sometime in the new year. I'm not as sure about Hey Jude since it was a single, but I'm presuming it'll get a release too (though there is barely any guitar/bass parts in it, so it mightn't suit Rock Band anyway).

Yeah, they're releasing whole albums as DLC.  I imagine they'll be an equivalent to current DLC album prices (1440MSP on XBLA). 

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_songs_in_The_Beatles:_Rock_Band#Downloadable_songs_track_listing  This has all the confirmed DLC so far listed.  No Let It Be (the album) confirmed as yet but given the fact that it has got Hey Jude and er...the other one on there, I'd expect it at some point.

EDIT:  Ignore me, Olaf's right...  For some reason, I always though Hey Jude was on Let It Be...

Got my PS3 copy today from play and it's brilliant, Have just spent the last 3 hours rocking out and I love it, nearly completed the story part, had to stop as my voice was shot!  The visual reperesentation is great and really suits each song and the intro film is (to use their term) Fab!

You can use a joypad and headset for vocals, but it's not as good and you will have difficulty on anything over hard.

Thought I heard that the lips ones work with it. I have the PS3 copy and the singstar mics work so good chance that those might work as well.

Umm...I maybe being a bit thick here but...umm...you don't need the USB hub to play do you?

The USB hub that came with my copy of Rock Band was screwed from day one, rather than go through the hassle of sending it all back to ShopTo.net I just plugged each of the instruments directly into the Xbox. Unless your charging something, using a wired pad or have the wireless network adaptor you should have 3 spare USB ports on the Xbox, just plug all the instruments straight in.

With regards to the Microphone not working and at the risk of sounding like a patronising twerp, I had a similar problem until I figured out you had to be signed in on a 360 pad with a profile (presumably because the Mic has no navigation buttons/controls) in order for it to work. Did you try that or were you just plugging the Mic in by itself and having no joy?

 Quick question about Rock Band Beatles - I've just bought the Premium set for the 360.  It's my first foray into Rock Band (my only previous experience with this type of game has been GH3 on PS3).  What level of retro-compatibility will my controllers give me with the other Rock Band/GH games on the 360?

RE: The mic, I was signed in on my profile and plugged it in but it wouldnt let me continue.

Mute point (  ) anyways now. I rang the store and am returning it and picking up a Beatles basic pack today. I know it wont happen but when I worked there I always used to find something to give the customer if they had the hassle of having to bring something back.

It seems the USB part of the cable is missing. All the instruments connect via USB. There should be another part of that round connection that connects to the section you have but with a USB part on the other end.

Apparently you have to charge the USB hub too. I don't use mine as I plug everything in and I use the wireless GH WT guitar.

Strange, sounds like the end piece (here) from each of the wired controllers were missing. The USB hub only has...well USB connections on it, you'd of been stuffed either way by the looks of things. Sounds like the dodgiest second hand rock band kit ever.

Assuming for a second it's like the other Rock Band games then you're safe using the instruments with pretty much everything except the much older Guitar Hero II & III games, if memory serves the Rock Band guitars never worked with those.

 Finished story mode on normal. Was great fun. Only wish I had a mic stand so I could do the harmonies.

I managed to pick up the orignal rock band kit today for £50. Now I just need RB2 or Beatles as cheap as possible.

 I think i started playing about 10 mins after Juan last night, i didnt get round to finishing it as my girlfriend came in and demanded to sing the songs she knows, i'll finish it off when i get in from work today to get the 'Day Tripper' points.

Did anyone elses case have a red thing insterted in it that made it impossible to open? i resorted to snapping the case open and moving the disk/etc into a spare case i had.
