They do make a difference, I picked up some from Game and it reduced the sound to a more reasonable level. However i'm pretty sure that the RB2 kit has improved pads.

Has there been a date released for the RB2 game ?

Not on the PS3 though

That's why I'm thinking about importing and I'm looking for the cheapest option. The complete set from abroad, or RB1 kit from the UK, and then importing the game.

RB2 was not well advertised at all. My local Game only had 3 copies in. This is shocking!

Harmonix are living by the ethos "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" and I'm more than happy with RB2, it's so much more refined and playable than GH:WT.

Got Rock Band 2 for Xmas.

There are so many songs available it requires an entire spreadsheet just to work out what to buy! I think 10440 points is a lot to spend at once so I'll have to spread it out a bit.

Just spent 1600 points on The Killers and Offspring packs, Jesus Christ Pose, All The Small Things and the two System of a Down songs.

The greatest heavy metal song ever - "More Human Than Human" by White Zombie has just been released for ROck Band.

They have also released "Black Sunshine" that was on one of the GH games.

Just a shame they didn't release "Thunderkiss '65" as well and make it a White Zombie pack.

That's a bold statement about More Human Satan but nevertheless a great tune...not one for the vocalist (me) though as I'm guessing it'll be spoken word

Does this mean we're finally going to get the RB wireless drum kit? I couldn't afford the GH:WT band pack and my set-up wouldn't suit the wired RB kit, so I've been hankering for a standalone wireless kit for ages.

What has been called "The Greatest Album of All Time"* has just been released for Rock Band. "Ten" by Pearl Jam has been released for 1440 points.

I am downloading it now and look forward to playing it through in it's entirety tonight.

I am confused.com over all this RB and GH stuff. My mate is selling his set up for �70. He is offering me;

Rock Band 2 game
Rock Band one mic
GH Wirelss Guitar
Rock Band one drums

OR there's GH ;

Guitar Hero is �125 for GHWT full band set.
Or �35 for GH Aerosmith... with wireless guitar. Can I use my head set as a mic?
A plus for GH is that I could always rent or buy the older games or somthing. I am guessing the older games are cheap.

Not sure which to go for...if any really. I doubt I will want to buy load's of extra content for either game so I would happily stick with what is there or just rent. Opinions please...

Oh and how hard is it to play the guitar and mic at the same time. That's what I would be doing...joyous on drums.
It's just quite a bit to part with for one game. Especially now when there are so many bargins to be had. I could get quite a few games for �70 or �125 quid.

I would get this. Rock Band 2 is the best game. The GH3 wireless guitar is the best guitar (despite the lack of "solo" keys) and the Rock Band Drums are the best.

With Rock Band 2 you can constantly change the line up of your band, or change your difficulty level without having to replay the entire game through to unlock songs, like you do with Guitar Hero. All Rock Band downloads are compatible with all versions of Rock Band. With GH the downloads are tied to an edition. You can also download individual songs, rather than the three packs you buy in GH.

You can still rent all the other games and play them with the same equipment. If you rent Rock Band you can pay 500 points to rip all the songs to the HDD for Rock Band 2.

As for singing while playing guitar, you will need to know the songs very well as you wont be able to focus on two areas of the screen at once. Some songs also have percussion that I guess would be quite hard to do with the guitar in your hands. But as I said before you can easily swap instruments in a band, so you can play one session with the guitar and drums, and then the next with drums and microphone, while continuing with the same saved game.

The GH3 guitar works fine with Rock Band 2, not sure about the World Tour guitars but don't see why they shouldn't work.

Word of warning - I've not heard a single positive about the AC/DC pack - it's basically a severely cut down version of RB, from what I've read. If you get it though, there is a code on the back of the manual which allows you to download the track list to play in the full RB game.

Rumours are that Van Halen have a GH game in the works as well
