The current downloads far outstrip Guitar Hero's offering in both quality and quantity.

The "Entire Catalogue" refers to everything released in the US so far. They are still releasing tracks each week and will be for a long time.

Oh I agree and there is some great stuff on there...Metallica, Oasis and Black Crowes but it is very US orientated which I guess is to be expected but I'm just hoping for some more bands with a more international appeal.

I mean a whole album by The Cars?  And Boston?

Totally stuck on drums for "Run to the Hills" on Hard, ironically it's not the bass pedal giving me jip for once, I just can't get the red pad rhythm down at all, it's bastard hard.

Just need to practise drum-rolls. Also, Try the sock mod (Google it) You sometimes get issues when doing drum-rolls in that it doesn't register or activates another pad by the vibration.

Sock mod was the first thing I did when I got the game, as much as I'd like to put it down to peripheral malfunction, I'm just a bit shit!

Wasn't this just released like a month ago? How can the sequel be released here so quickly?

I'd imagine that's a US date to be fair, even so Rock Band won't have been out there a year by that time.

Cause it was actually released last year... Just got delayed over here. Kinda funny how 360 will be getting RB2 just as PS3 gets the first one .

Although is a testimant to how simple and overpriced these games are. Why are they full price? They take like 5 mins to throw together.

Even of this is the US date, I'd be pretty pissed if I spent 100+ only for an updated version to be released 9-12 months later with all new kit.

Plus according to that article PS3 users can download RB2 songs in RB. So what sense would there be in releasing RB2 on the PS3 later.

Well just because you spent all that money on RB1 doesn't mean you've wasted it, you'll still be able to use it, and you'll still have all the instruments, it just means you only have to buy the game next time not all the instruments.

And you can only download and play the RB2 DLC songs on RB1 not the 70 or so that'll be on the disc. Plus RB2 will probably give songs added functionality and features. It makes sense for them to allow RB2 songs and RB1 songs to work on the other versions, means you've not wasted your money when you go onto the next game, and it gives the songs more life when you get the added functionality.

Bought Rock Band last week after being a huge fan of Guitar Hero.  Still enjoy em both but with GH announcing their rival World Tour package, and frankly the GH drums look far better, I am torn.  I know that the GH guitar works with RB but has anyone seen or heard anything official that says the new GH instruments will not work with RB?

Lost my voice playing Rock Band last week, some of the settings on the female vocal are a bit off cause they still require you to reach some pretty low notes.

Words cannot express how much I love this game.

Harmonix have given it a title update so you can now export your songs to your hard drive in preperation for Rock Band 2.

What annoys me is the solo mode, it's not as fun as Band World Tour. Sometimes my other half can't sit and play with me through long sessions as she complains all the notes blur into one, so I've set up a band of me singing and playing at the same time. It's great fun, until I get a song I don't know the words too....

If anyone wants to challenge me to a rock off, my gamertag is "Y2Neildotcom"

ROCK!

I've got Guitar Hero 3 and enjoyed it.

With Rock Band 2 and Guitar World Hero both coming out, I have no idea which one to buy.

Both have songs on the setlist I like so it about 50/50 on that.

I finally get to try this out after months of it sat at the top of my Lovefilm rental list.  Sod's Law says the mrs goes into labour the second I fire it up.

Still, quite looking forward to giving it a go.

Both GHWT and RB2 do look tasty. I'm leaning more towards Rock Band however.

In answer to a previous post both Rock Band and Guitar Hero World Tour kits will work for both games. Seems they came to some kind of agreement.

Seeing as how I've put a lot of money into Rock Band, I'll be sticking with their instruments, unless Game do a trade in on the instruments in a box for the new lot?

Remains to be seen as far as I'm aware, no confirmation on it's region coding as of yet.

I'm not holding out any hope mind you.

Actually scratch that, just been looking on the web and it would appear the pirated versions that are appearing would seem to confirm it's region locked.

Really? Poop.

play-asia is my source of telling me if a game is region locked or not.

No news on when this will be out in the UK. Ridiculous.

Surely the fact that EA are involved is more than enough information for you to know it's region locked?

Now, you say that...but according to Play Asia, neither Madden 09 or Tiger Woods 09 are region protected...which is awesome as I can now pick up Madden for only 28.26! (mind you I haven't checked shipping)

EDIT: Now I have...about 2 to ship it cheapest option...so 30 for a brand new game...still, think I might wait. I'm happy enough with 08

I was playing this in Zavvi the other day, really addictive...anybody know if the Wii version (or the upcoming Wii version of Rock Band 2) is worth getting?
P.S. They really should put "In The Flesh?" by Pink Floyd in this game...

Hell no! If you want it, wait for Rock Band 2, rent the Rock Band 1 disc and import the songs for about $5.

The instruments are ridiculously overpriced...but I think it's totally worth it as long as you're not playing on your own. It's a definate party game.

Anyone know if there is much of a difference between the RB1 kit vs the RB2 kit?
