£145?

You can get all the instruments for £99.99 of Amazon.co.uk, and Rock Band for £36 from Shopto.net.

Got the game through the post yesterday, planning on playing it through with the Guitar Hero controller, berfore buying the rest of the instruments in the Summer.

I thought the Guitar Hero controller wasn't compatible with Rock Band? Or is it the other way around?

High Street price, it might work out cheaper depending what they let me have my student discount off of....

Other way around, your Rock band guitar won't work with GH, but i'm sure someone mentioned the drums do

Got it yesterday, disagree with the price immensely but unfortunately I'm a weak willed individual.

It's good, although the guitar strummer takes some serious getting used to if you've played on the Guitar Hero peripherals before. The drums are well built enough but by god do they make some racket, the sock mod is inbound.

Over priced = Yes, Tremendous Fun = Most Definitely, Glad I spend the Money = Yep, Yep, Yep . . .

Played this for a few hours yesterday, Girlfriend was on guitar, I was rocking on Drums, which actually don't take that long to get into, the trickiest part is getting your foot to work independently from your arms , but after a couple of hours of moving forward with our band 'The L Plates', I picked up the Mic . . . Oasis have never sounded so good, I can't sing for shit, but that doesn't stop you being able to do this at all, I got 96% on Expert on Wonderwall, just mucked up the microphone tapping and the start.... Figures has finished a Singing tour I believe, so I pity the person living with him!!!!

So if you have the money around (it'll cost you on downloads to, as there are some great tracks out), and have the slight interest in this game, I recommend going out and getting it, superb.

Hmmm. When I created my character "DJ Satan" It said the name wasn't classy so it won't show on Live. I guess they'll use my gamertag instead.

I just tried singing. When I said I can't sing I wasn't joking. I failed "In Bloom" on Medium and then got 75% on "Should I Stay or Should I Go" on Easy.

I've not tried singing yet. I've just got the game from work, when I read that the headsets can be used as mics (i've yet to try this) I realised I only had to shell out for drums and the game. Game this paycheck, Drums next. Shall amuse myself blasting through the solo guitar career for now

EDIT: Yep, headset works, and I suck

I'll think I'll buy a Wii instead.

Or save the money for Guitar Hero IV and a couple of extra games.

Having played it all day I haven't come across one thing that made me think "I preferred how they did it in Guitar Hero". Much better all round.

Totally agree, love the big band finishes as well!!

Played for a couple of hours earlier, and 'The L Plates' are progressing nicely in their career so far. Haven't 100%'d a track with the drums yet, 98% is my closest (on easy!), the foot pedal is getting easier, but is still usually the reason for me losing it, and it's being used more and more as we're going through the game.... We don't get paid alot for playing our gigs, but gain alot of new fans!!, I think our manager is doing us in, might just have to have a word!!

Tonight we're just chilling with some groupies and crack...

Exhausted!!

The game keeps telling us to move up to medium, but my right foot isn't playing ball. We have just got a Jet plane though, so we'll keep plugging away at our fun level

Waltzed through the solo tour for guitar on Hard, it's a walk in the park compared to Guitar Hero III, I'm thinking expert might actually be possible, for once. Just completed the solo tour from drums on Medium as well, nothing there that's really troublesome if I'm honest, Hard mode beckons.

The pedal's been giving me some bother though, as I bring my foot down I find there's a slight recoil/bounce as plastic hits plastic causing the pedal to jump slightly and register a second hit, which needless to say fucks the score up. Might stick something soft in there to try and dampen things a bit.

We truly rock hard. As soon as I can figure out how to hit the foot pedal without hitting the drums we'll rule the world! (of rock).

Still gutted i kept missing that 1 note on expert drums. Think it's because i was actually going for the 100% that threw me off. Now i just need to sell a kidney or my car to get the drum kit for myself.

Is a pretty fun game though, Still prefer the note system on GH, The circles. But i prefer the patterns on RB. What i really want is a cross between the both of them.

I was considering getting this once I realised the headset could be used as a Mic and I already have two guitars, but then I saw the price of the drums, and read up on Guitar Hero World Tour, which sounds like it's a hell of a lot better than Rock Band, especially with the create your own tracks option. Plus not giving EA any money is always a bonus.

I really think M$, And Sony need to step in and have a standerdised instrument set though. It's getting a bit out of hand with now Rock band with it's own drum set, Guitar Hero IV with it's own drums, And Konami's Rock Revolution with it's own drums too... Now Rock Band is a good game and i liked the drums on it. So you could just say stick with that, But both GHIV and RR will have custom tracks. When will it end?!

Why can't i just buy 1 drum kit, 1 guitar and 1 mic and have them 100% compatable with all music games. As for sure the RB drum set won't work with the GHIV drum set as it has an extra button ( 2 cymbols ).

Ok OW! Nicked a mates Xbox to go through solo, Gotten all the way to the last song on solo guitar. And it's just like Freebird :( But i went and unlocked 'Timmy and the Lords of the Underworld' which made it so much better, Love that tune even if it is a bit intense. So now my wrist is buggered up again. So sad.

Isn't it just, got five stars on Hard for that song which I was quite proud of, Expert is nigh on fucking impossible however.

Got 2 more songs to do on Hard, then I might try Expert. I'd like to try Vocals, but I've only got a headset which isn't very accurate. You might struggle through Medium with it but that would be all.

This is what puts me off buying RB (as well as the price of the whole thing). It would be great if MS did a pack (bit like they do the official steering wheel for racing games), that worked with all games.

Stupid issue i came across last night.

Tried playing a few songs whilt disconnected from live... Anything downloaded or considered downloaded (Blur ect) just freezes the xbox on 'Song Loading'. Sucks.

Bah, I'm still stuck on Green hills on Expert. Refuse to go play through the lot again on hard just cause i can't do one song on Expert .

Really annoying as i have 5 stars on most of the songs, 4 stars on a few of the later ones. Just that one solo, Solo H/J i believe. Always, Even on GH2 with Freebird, Same part. Different song.

Finding the strum bar a bit of an issue with the RB guitar for the songs that require quick repetative chords...I only ever strum down so maybe that's the problem?

Also I really hope they plan to release more stuff to download as what's there at the moment isn't that great...I'm a bit concerned as on Live it says "entire catalogue available" please tell me that's not all they're gonna release??
