This is one of the reasons why I don't go to parties or other places where there might be drunk people. I find drunkenness really rather boring and unpleasant.

Last New Years Day, I elected to stay in by myself and watch Die Hard 2 instead of going out and getting hammered. It was excellent.

Well done Tom Daley. I'm trying to think of a joke about diving but I can't.

Something something diving into the tears of heartbroken women.

[EDIT]

Just watched the video, poor little thing looked nervous as hell. I've heard a rumour that he'd been threatened with being outed in the papers, so good on him to do it on his own terms but it's a shame if those circumstances are true.

Oh well. He certainly dived into that one!

I used to love house parties when I was younger and I had some great times but now you couldn't drag me to one. In my experience it usually ends in tears because a fight breaks out, property gets destroyed, someone starts a fire, police are called or bodily fluids are flung about with reckless abandon. Either that or most people end up on drugs babbling incoherently about a talking hamster they met in the bathroom.

Who would put that on the front page of a newspaper? Some kind of homophobic sociopath?

Ha!

Seriously, though, he's mentioned it in about four seperate threads now. I'm starting to suspect it's the reason why he suddenly returned to our virtual shores. He'll be using it to solve world peace next.

After hearing on the radio people panicking about Korean and Chinese people doing far better in school than British children, and hearing about why they are so much more successful in those countries (an insane amount of pressure put upon them by parents, which is all coupled with negative reinforcement with no acknowledgement of when they do well, plus the extremely long hours that even the youngest school-age children must put in), I am thinking that a childhood is far more importantly to a mentally healthy people than academic success. Professor Brian Cox did shit in school, and now he's a hugely respected physicist.

The execution was perfect, but his entry was messy?

quote:

We were discussing this in work, as apparently the new trend for the Phantom Shitter in my old school is not just to shit on the floor of the toilets (as he/she/they did in my day) but to poo in a hot dog bun and leave it somewhere in the school. Obviously the whole thing is vile, but several other friends (I posted this news on facebook) have informed me that their own schools also had their own Phantom Shitters,

Please tell me this isn't just a Northern Ireland thing. I'll be mortified if I've sullied this country in the eyes of the forum.

I think I told this tale elsewhere on the forum, but several years ago the girl who used to sing in my band was moving on to pastures new. So after her final gig, we were all heading back to her house for a noisy farewell party. When we arrived, we found the front door ajar. Expecting the worst, we all went in to see if we could catch the intruder, but after searching the house from top to bottom noting seemed to be missing. Maybe, we thought, she just hadn't closed the door properly when she left earlier? Guitars were tuned, drinks were poured and Geraldine went into the kitchen to heat up the chili that she had prepared. Upon removing the lid of the big pot, she reached in to stir it, only to find a huge turd sitting on top..

Fuck, maybe it is a NI thing after all!

Very late to the party but I bought the original Star Wars trilogy on DVD not long ago having not seen them since a showing on TV when I was a child. Confronted with the most fucking appalling CGI Jabba ever during A New Hope. I finished watching The Empire Strikes Back tonight and breathed a little sigh of relief that George Lucas kept his mitts off the adorable Yoda puppet, although I know my view of Carrie Fisher jiggling about in her gold bikini in Return of the Jedi is going to be tainted by seeing that Jabba turd again. I'm seriously looking into getting my hands on the despecialized fan-made versions out there.

I was never attached to my ps3 but I really enjoyed playing it. I figured with the ps4 released and my current lack of avid playing the time was right to sell it. I just watched a man walk out of my house with it very happy and was surprised how sad I feel right now. Sold for 195 though so it lessens the salt in the wound. But theres an empty space now underneath the sky box. /

Lily Allen really does have a tiny range. Within that accented, talky thing she does - fine. But Dream a Little Dream? Ouch. The ad thing? Oucher.

Also, Stadtler and Waldorf - voices very wrong.

Williams seems to have lost a lot of the strength of his voice too.

Only slightly? And you call me a lightweight?

They are about to start recording a commentary for Chamber of Secrets. The extended version. So far, they have made $1,252, which is not bad.
