I take it the date went well, Sanch?

It appears so.

I struggle with vegetarian food at the best of times but everything which is not vegan (which appears to require some strange and exotic ingredients) seems to involve cheese in some form and lactose free cheese for some reason is not suitable for vegetarians. I may look for vegetarian take away options.

Or I may just make cake, you can't go wrong with cake.

You could do a basic pasta sauce and find an appropriate pasta type - the quorn lamb strips eg are really tasty. I use them in pasta bases quite a lot.

I caught a glimpse of my cat spraying in the garden this morning, and we gazed at each for just that little bit longer than felt comfortable.

Now he's spread across my lap being more affectionate than normal, and I'm wondering if I need to have a chat with him

So why exactly did Huey Morgan spit his dummy out on Buzzcocks? I've seen the video but with no sound.

Apparently everything was taking a long time to record and he just got irritated.

Yeah, that too.

He's been on the show numerous times, so I don't know what he was expecting

Maybe he wanted rewarding with a Scooby Snack for every right answer. I didn't even know that Never Mind the Buzzcocks was still going. I guess Phil Jupitus has to do something.

It's barely going as it is. I miss Simon Amstell.

The show never really recovered from Mark Lamarr leaving.

I never really liked him. He was too nasty. Some of the contestants, certainly some of the manufactured boy/girl bands deserved a good old piss-take, but he went too far IMO, he got nasty and downright rude.
I lost a bit of interest in the programme to be honest, but the kids watch it, it seems a bit more relevant to them.
I'm getting old. I can only relate to Phil Jupitus now, I do like Noel Fielding though, he has my sense of humour

Not according to Noel Fielding's recent tweets! It just looked like he'd left his sense of humour at home, or maybe hearing lines quoted from his heyday brought into sharp focus his recent position of doing dog shows with Lisa Tarbuck? Either way, he acted knobbish, and was deservedly ridiculed for it by the other guests.

It's barely going as it is. I miss Simon Amstell.

I remember what a breath of fresh air he was when he started, it seemed like everyone else was able to get a word in more often. Bill Bailey especially, I'll never forget the episode where he ripped Donny Tourette to shreds ("You're about as punk as Enya!").

There've been a few great guest presenters since then, but it's not "Must see TV" anymore.

Yeah, I always thought it was more of an ensemble with Simon Amstel. Never really liked 50's throwback Mark Lamarr.

Up until recently I was unfamiliar with the phrase 'at the coalface'. It was brought to my attention someone from my old college giving out about a current affairs programme on the college radio station called 'The Coldface'. Now of course, I'm equally as annoyed about it

Just got a phone call. I went to a charity dinner last night, and the venue just rang to inform me I won a 4 ball at Wentworth in the auction.
"Errr" I replied "How much did I win it for?"
"1100"
I'm thinking what's the best way to tell the wife? (she doesn't play golf )

Apparently Dr Who's 50 this week. You'd think the BBC would have mentioned it.

This could be interesting. I have to go into the centre of Norwich this evening and most of the roads are closed and the car parks will be full due to there being some fireworks thing at the castle tonight.

Turns out torrential rain kept most people away so it turned into a pleasant night out (lucky I had a handy umbrella in the boot so we didn't get soaked. On the down side I am bored tonight.
