Oh. Dear.

Basically, that could only have been worse if it was your boss you were swearing about

So look on the bright side - it's not that bad.

It would have been better if I did incapacitate her for the foreseeable future.

At work my reputation (not that I have one) is of a nice young lady who gets on with it and doesn’t really interact with others unless its work related, the quiet one, solid, dependable and smartly turned out. So rocking up in my crappy car music playing loudly wearing an old ragged pair of jeans, my painting t shirt (I love it it’s so comfy) scruffy work boots and messy hair (that will be flat and conservative come Monday) having a heated discussion with the girl about something unimportant but involving a few choice words…and turning to face the boss mid fuck and very nearly slamming into her was not good fun.

She'll be going up to people in work on Monday "You know how she seems so quiet..."

Well it's only taken me 8 years, but I've finally gone out for a Halloween themed night out dressed as Dr. Gregory House.

Hmm, this might be a little morbid for this thread but never mind. My grandad has been suffering with dementia (undiagnosed) for nearly a year with a variety of hallucinations: he often thinks he and my granny have visitors or cleaning ladies, and that they go to a copy-house that is exactly like their house but isn't. I spoke to my mum today and she told me the latest is that he's apparently 'fed up' because someone wants to take him away and they've had a disagreement about it. We've yet to find out who exactly it is that wants to 'take him away' (I suspect it's been triggered by the recent involvement of the social services, though as far as I'm aware there's been no suggestion of him being moved out of the house as my parents and aunt both live within a 20 minute drive) but my mum's concerned about stories of elderly people seeing deceased relatives who tell them they'll be taking them back soon shortly before death. I doubt it's this, but it's got me thinking about the fact that feasibly my grandad could actually be fairly close to death.

Mostly I feel bad that I'm not there more, but I live 150 miles away and working full time makes it very difficult to get up there more than once every few months. There's a lot of family in the area so my grandparents aren't short on helpers, but I can't help feel that I might be missing out on the last few months of his life.

I once had a suggestion of various types of lubricant. Sadly that had not been part of my search parameters so I agree they can be a little random sometimes.

My suggestions were underwear and Star Wars memorabilia. The Star Wars stuff makes sense (even if I don't remember ever searching for it), but the briefs...

I wonder how it is possible to have such poor throttle control that when they drive they go from 40 down to 25 then up to 35 than down to 20 then up to 40 then down to 25 etc.

Then they got to a 60mph limit and dropped to about 19mph.

I tend to be of the opinion driving would be enjoyable without other drivers on the road.

On another note, i thought it was the Norwich Beer Festival today as when I walked past Blackfriars Hall where it is usually held there was a queue four deep which went all the way around the corner and as far down the road and over the bridge as could be seen (about three hundred metres or so). I am glad I was not attending.

I narrowly avoided a crash on the dual carriageway earlier today. I'm not sure what happened in front of me but the traffic suddenly went from 70mph, to everyone slamming on their brakes and swerving out of each others way to avoid collisions. I'm glad the people behind me were so quick to react as well.

Be glad you don't have tailgaters like we do in this area. I quite often see seven or eight cars in a row travelling at over 70 mph less than a cars length away from the car in front. All it would take is for the car in front to brake and horror ensues.

We have regular bad crashes on the road near us as people get fed up with idiots who don't know the speed limit, or even close, and overtaking/speeding/bad judgement occurs.

I found out today that Sebastian Faulks has written a new Jeeves & Wooster book. I don't really know how I feel about this practice of having authors continue the work of others who have passed on.

I quite enjoyed Eoin Colfer's 'And Another Thing...' it wasn't a patch on the rest of the series of course. I think my main issue is that it's difficult to say how a deceased author might have wanted the story/characters to develop, unless they left notes or something but I doubt Wodehouse had any plans for J&W. I think I'd also much rather write my own stories rather than continue somebody else's, there's always going to be a comparison to the original particularly with Wodehouse when the style was such an integral part of the appeal.

I guess it's fine just as long the author approaches it seriously as opposed to treating it like a cash grab.

I'd concentrate on a good vegetarian dish and then work out if there's an issue and, if so, can you simply swap in something eg soya
