I know what you mean - you can't beat a bit of Slave To The Grind.

so many people will be googling that now. (Slightly Off Topic but I remember when that album came out, and all my rocker friends were expecting more cock rock in the vain of the first album, and I absolutely loved it because they got heavier )

Sitting in my office, all windows open, 3 fans working away and I'm hot and bothered already, I perhaps shouldn't be so tight and get air con.

I'm thinking it's slightly fawning and tacky for magazines to be blathering on about Kate Middleton and Prince William's "baby joy".

I mean, has he or she even been born yet? What if, God forbid, there's complications?

There's going to be so much knee-bending and foreluck tugging when it happens, physiotherapists are going to be in business for years.

But didn't one of the Royals have a baby girl a few years ago that has never been seen in public, allegedly because she has a harelip or some kind of disfigurement - or am I making that up/dreamt it?

Prince John had epilepsy and was rarely seen in public before his death aged thirteen.

Aye, it was streets ahead of their debut, and it hasn't aged too badly either. Sadly, the same can't be said for the band members. Funnily enough, I was rummaging around in my mam's garage a while back and came across an old file from when I was doing my GCSEs, on the back of which I'd written (in alarmingly neat handwriting compared to the psychopathic pensioner's scribble I employ these days) my favourite albums of 1991. The Top Five ran thus:

1. Nevermind - Nirvana
2. Metallica - Metallica
3. Slave To The Grind - Skid Row.
4. Loveless - My Bloody Valentine
5. Badmotorfinger - Soundgarden

Which if nothing else proves conclusively that when I was 14 Sebastian Bach was cooler than both Kevin Shields and Chris Cornell. And by extension I was cooler than all three.
Dunno where the fuck I - and Sebastian - went wrong in the intervening years.

haha, that Top 5 is probably my top 5 of that year, possibly replacing My Bloody Valentine with Every Good Boy Deserves Fudge by Mudhoney. And yes, Sebastian Bach looks a right state now, as do most of the cock rockers from that era.

Another hot day, in a hot office, with 2 fans for company. Fuck off nice weather, I've had enough

After my brother-in-law died after running the Birmingham half-marathon last year, my ex-wife, her sister and a bunch of his friends decided they would run it this year in his memory and to raise money for charity.

Some of them have been training in local fields and beaches etc, while some, including my sister-in-law, have signed up for several smaller runs, including one in London this weekend which finishes at the Olympic Stadium. Anyway, she received her official pass and jersey yesterday which obviously includes her running number which happens to be 4116.

And that happens to be the number my brother-in-law was wearing in his race when he died last year.

Now what are the chances of that happening?

Wow, that's spooky.  What a great thing to do in his memory   What colour zone is she in do you know?

I'm doing the National Lottery run as well on Sunday.

I'm not entirely sure, but I do know she's running in dark blue?

All the t-shirts are dark blue (and flipping massive!).  The number will be printed on a colour.  I'm in the pink zone at the back

My Mum and Dad have my spectator passes and they're more excited at wearing wristbands that say "guest of the athlete" than actually seeing me cross the finish line

Hm, going from her picture it's just black on white with a dark blue border.

Sounds like she is in the white zone then (which I believe is behind the red zone which is the first one to go).

We had a team building day yesterday at work and ended up playing a sort of rounders/baseball hybrid (rounders equipment, baseball rules) in the baking sun. I fully expected to wake up today feeling a little drained but instead I've woken up feeling as if I've been hit by a fucking bus. Honestly, every single muscle in my body was screaming when I woke up this morning. I don't feel too bad at the moment except for my legs and shoulders feeling a little tender but fuck me am I unfit.

I am cream crackered right now.

This is the first night I've had in the flat since Saturday. I seem to have been unexpectedly busy all week, and I was fully expecting to relax this evening, but I had various household chores to get done.

And I stupidly decided while I was doing everything that I may aswell change my bedding too.

So I have only just sat down right now.

PHEE-YOO. Early to bed I think.

I'm wondering what on earth has bitten me on the elbow. Insect bites don't usually show on me at all, but this one's come up in a bump and a red patch the size of a golf ball, and it itches like holy fuck.

I grated my thumb whilst zesting a lime for cheesecake I was making. It hurts like billy-o and I would not recommend it.

Did I really just type billy-o?

Eventually got my tardy arse into gear and started watching Game Of Thrones today. Five episodes in, and it's testament to the brilliant writing and performances that I'm already praying some of these characters die painful, violent deaths.

No it seems to be about stroking off the cast members of superhero films and upcoming TV shows. Do we really need a fucking panel on every show going? Pretty sure there was a Mythbusters one.
