Why do I get the impression that Homer lurks in all the threads just WAITING for an opportunity to make a pun and of him laughing gleefully when he types it and hits 'ok'.

'cos you know him well?

I made a boozy tiramisu yesterday for a birthday dinner. I don't like alcoholic desserts, or cream, so didn't have it myself. It's not the sponge cake one, but the pure mascarpone/double cream/whipped eggs with soaked sponge fingers type, with a chocolate straw in it that most sook the dessert through. Everyone kind of collapsed after eating it - going for a snooze, wobbling about a bit. I tried a bit tonight - I may have overdone the alcoholic content just a tad

So it turns out I have a leaky roof which has finally made its way into my bedroom and then dripping down into the lounge directly below.

I informed my landlord who is getting it sorted for me, but it does mean that when I left for work earlier on, I did have to leave four bowls and a jug standing around at various points in the room to collect the drips. Slightly worried as to what I'll come back home to tonight.

It's not all bad though, you can have one of the bowls as a snack when it's all finished.

I've been looking at moving back to America recently, now I'm thinking it's just better if we migrate planets. And to think Ricky Gervias mocked Karl Pilkington for buying a plot of land on the Moon, the way things are going....

Please survive wee goldfish!

Our goldfish, Pepper, made a leap for freedom at some point this morning/last night. Walked into the living room to find her on the carpet in front of her tank. She wasn't moving but we put her back into the water and she sank and slowly began moving so we're hoping she recovers. Her dorsal fin is still down but we're hoping that changes soon. She's still swimming a bit lop sided and she has a sort of cloudy look to her skin which isn't a good sign. I want her to recover so much! She's such a happy wee fish, she just wanted to go explore, forgetting the fact she is a fish and needs water to survive.

Survive my little fishy!

Had the doc's yesterday for another sick line.

Which I'm really hoping is my final one. I went into work yesterday to speak to them about provisionally putting me back on the rota for the start of May.

Honestly, I don't feel well enough yet to be returning to work, but it's been so long I don't want to stay off any longer. So we'll see how we go by doing a couple of hours a day.

Looking forward to being back to 'normal' though.

I need a snap decision. After a truly ghastly two weeks I'm buying myself a video game.

Dishonored or Dead Space 3?

Which one should I get? Go!

Haven't played Dead Space 3 myself, but Dishonored is well worth getting.

I really hope this sitcom with Ian McKellan and Derek Jacobi as a pair of bickering old queens is great 'cos they're such likeable blokes but I've a feeling it, erm, won't be.

I was wondering that myself.
It should be brilliant, and I'd like to think neither of them would do it unless the script was top notch, but I've got this funny feeling...........

I didn't realise they'd middleamerica'd the title.

I'm not impressed by the choice of a Will & Grace writer (easy jokes repeated ad nauseum) so I'm resting my hopes on the interesting choice of playwright Mark Ravenhill. Unusual choice, no real TV track record - could go either way.

Iím hoping it doesnít suck too but even if it does I will watch it all, my fangirl love for both Jacobi and McKellen knowing few bounds. Itís already at a disadvantage though because in my head theyíve spent years solving supernatural crime together like Jago and Litefoot but in the 21st century.

Can't we now start a Kickstarter to get them to do just that?
