Was feeling a bit sorry for myself earlier because I decided, for once, to actually make plans for my birthday this year. I never usually do, but after the past 6 months I felt it would be nice to celebrate. However all my intended plans have fallen through due to friend's other commitments. That's fair enough, I know not everybody can make themselves available just for birthdays. It's just that for years I've never bothered arranging anything mostly because I don't really care about it being my birthday, but also because I've known if I tried to organise something, it would fail.

Anyway, to cheer myself up I have just booked tickets to go and see Black Watch as I absolutely loved it when I saw it a couple of years ago. And I've treated myself to a semi-decent hotel, rather than staying in a cheap guest house.

This is not good. I am supposed to go away for a week starting Friday. At the moment I can barely walk, it hurts when sitting and the only time there is no pain is when I lay down. I also have another day at work tomorrow to endure.

Sorry to hear that, Sanch. Stupid question but I guess you've seen a specialist, yeah? Any long-term solutions?

watched The Island the other day, the road chase has been bugging me since.
when the beautiful Ewan and Scarlett escape, they get on a train, a floaty train that hovers above the track. When they're being chased through the streets they hop aboard the trailer of a lorry...the cargo of the trailer, they decide, would be great ammunition against the cars that are chasing them.

The cargo is train wheels!

the chasers even shout that they're throwing train wheels!

it seems like this was an idea Bay had and just wanted to put in a movie, cos cars hittin train wheels would look awesome, and to be fair it is a good Bay sequence, but it appears he sacrificed in film logic to get a action scene.

bugs me so much.

I don't know if you've noticed this before but logic and Michael Bay films rarely go hand in hand, Steflon.

The voice Google Translate uses for it's Spanish translations is a bit off-putting.

I had a discectomy about 5 months ago. I am hoping it is just one of those things and goes away.

Maybe floaty trains are the new thing and they were taking the wheels to some kind of recycling centre, or a museum for train wheels?

I'm settling in to spend my first night in a new house (for the first time in 7 years) in a city I've never lived in before (for the first time in 14 and a half years). I am simultaneously happy, excited, nervous and miserable.

Who knew more people searched for "weather" over "Justin Bieber" on Google?

But they all pale in comparison to good old fashioned "porn..."

My niece is 2 years old and just getting her words together, but she can't fully pronounce everything. She loves playing with her playdo and is constantly going on about it, however she can't quite get the word right. So this is what she says in public when we're on our way back to my house....

"When we get back, I play with the peedo".

As you can imagine, this can be quite socially awkward for us!
