ORIGINAL: rawlinson So... you need your plates to be as hot as the food that's on it, and your chocolate to be cold enough to freeze The Thing. You're a fucking freak. No, not as hot as the food, but warmed enough so you take the chill off the plate but you can still hold it. And it was a pizza, so there. quote:
ORIGINAL: elab49 It's probably rarer as a natural thing at home, but there's a reason good restaurants serve food on heated plates. Esp if there's a sauce or gravy involved. Thank you... quote:
ORIGINAL: Sway I do this, and my old flatmates used to take the piss out of me. I don't know why, because it makes complete sense to warm up a plate before you put hot food on it. I'm not really a fan of having my food turn cold quickly, but seem people seem to be happy with it. Odd that you mention this just now, one of my old flatmates left a message for me on facebook just last week saying she'd microwaved a plate to take the chill off it and had thought of me! ..and thank you. Yeah, I don't think he was going to follow my example. Having said that, my old flatmates at uni still take the piss out of me today because when we first moved in together I used to keep my tins of food in the fridge.
