 Past couple of weeks has been fairly tough going for my parents due to me being ill.

They've had to properly look after me recently, especially last week when I was first out of hospital as I was basically like an infant again. Needed them to put my socks on for me, help me to bed, and just generally do a lot of stuff for me. So as a small token of my appreciation I ordered some lovely Christmas flowers to be delivered to them today. And it set them both off crying. Oops.

 Seeing a tree uprooted and lying across the pavement on my way back from work tonight has made me re-evaluate whether taking an umbrella outside was a wise move after all. The weather is truly pants.

I hate umbrellas - doesn't matter how calm it is outside, mine would always blow inside out. Even if there wasn't a breath of wind to be had.

Last time I took an umbrella out with me, it was causing me so much hassle and I swear it was getting me more soaked than I would have been had I not taken one... I ended up throwing a hissy fit and loudly exclaiming, 'fuck this! I'm just going to get wet!' before throwing it in the nearest bin.

 Tell me about it - I had to hang on to the bloody thing for dear life and at one point I was holding the contraption jammed so close to my head that my hair got caught in it. The umbrella was folded up soon after.

Up ridiculously early 2nd day in a row, this time to catch the binmen. Only the truck I heard going around the village which filtered into my sleep and got me up early was a bloody milk van.

THinking on it, this maybe should be in Pissed Off but I've turned on TV and Timmytime is on so all's good.

It’s 09.20 and I am done for the day. House is clean, television and films are sorted for the festive period, fridge is stocked, cupboards are hardly bare, there be drinks and I and two greyhounds are knackered sleepy and comfortable having had an early morning run in the wind and the rain. Merry Christmas and such.

 It's 9.20 and I still have shopping to buy, a hire car to collect, presents to wrap, a Christmas tree to put up, a carol service to sing, and midnight mass. And I offered to help my former colleagues prep work tonight cos they're a man down and I'm a fucking martyr.
