 One of them - I forget which one - has a nice bottom. But those fake plastic smiles are not attractive. And Cheryl Cole...I will never understand our nation's apparent obsession with that dullard.

65% for The Hobbit on Rotten Tomatoes. I didn't think it was anywhere near as good as the LOTR Trilogy but I'm surprised to see it that low

Yeah, can't lie about it, it was pretty horrendous. Just so much raw grief and pain that no words of comfort could do anything about. I think the one thing that gave the family a bit of comfort was that over 200 people turned up, including one guy from Canada. That definitely helped them appreciate what an amazing guy he was.


But it's finally done with. So big relief in that respect.

I saw something about that. Does it count as a decade when nearly half that was them split up and not doing anything together? I think that's a pretty dubious claim to a decade together. A decade during which there was effectively a split they didn't make formal so this is technically a comeback, maybe.

Don't agree with the best pop groups either tbh. In general I have problems with this these days - if it's a randomly thrown together group of people who dress as they're told and sing the songs they're told to, who gets the credit really? Another 5 women put together would likely have had exactly the same career - so I've never really seen the point of giving them much credit. 'course I don't like their music which doesn't help. First one, partly because it was so unexpected, was OK.

 My wife just secretly rang my phone. I answered it and pretended to talk to Father Christmas' secretary. This was carried out in front of my four-year old son who was refusing to tidy up. Apparently Father Christmas had some concerns about this behaviour.

This is the first time I've been able to apply this subterfuge. I feel a little guilty about the deceit but my god it's effective!

 Why didn't you get in touch with Father Christmas' real secretary then no subterfuge required.


I now have to get rid of all the addresses off six weeks worth of junkmail. The pile is over a foot in height.

I think I may just take it outside and put a match to it.

Always lovely to see the amount of folk who come to pay their respects, it does offer a thin slice of comfort on an otherwise horrible day.

Glad that part is behind you now, so you can try and move forward with things, as hard as that will be.

Anyway, today I went back to the hospital to get my staples taken out. There was 37 of them so I was pretty concerned about how sore it was going to be, and thankfully it was nothing at all. A couple of them nipped, but I've had so many piercings, this didn't even come close. Nurse seemed very pleased with how neat the scar is and how well it's healing, so me and my family are all happy.

 A little suggestion which was passed to me. Get some vitamin E oil (something like Argan oil) to put on the scar to keep it supple and that stops it puckering and pulling in the future.

Thanks - I was thinking about getting some bio oil. Perhaps not just yet though, it's still healing up, so wouldn't want the wound to get infected. But certainly something for the next few months I reckon, cheers.
