I never used to get bothered by the weather, at all. Until I lived in Glasgow for 8 years. So I can totally empathise here!

I like sunshine, but more when it's chilly. I find wrapping up against the weather comforting somehow.

Autumn is my favourite season, and I always relish the first blasts of cold, crisp air when the seasons start to change.

What I used to get angry about is the constant rain Glasgow gets. I've said this before, but I'm not exaggerating when I say you can wake up one morning and see it raining outside - and it'll stay raining for an entire week. Not letting up for even one minute. Not. One. Minute.

I scoff when people up here complain about the rain. What bloody rain!?

For those of us less familiar with the specifics of Scottish geography, we struggle to think of it as anything more than just "Scotland" which, as an entity, gets a lot of rain... From my point of view, Glasgow is pretty "up here" as well...!

Took my cat to the vet tonight and with the price of the vet checking her out, giving her a shot, weight loss dry food and medicine it all came to £71.....

....and I am not bothered, it could have been a lot worse. I'm just glad it looks as though my cat is going to get better

 A little melancholy today. I was just perusing Empire's tribute to the Bond themes and when I got to Living Daylights I remembered that it was my first Bond film at the cinema which my dad took me to see at the Odeon in Leicester Square. First Bond film, first time in a huge, plush West-End cinema, just the two of us. It was a blast. Before that it had always been the flea-pits in Bexleyheath, Eltham or Sidcup. And now I'm remembering that my dad took me to see loads of good films.

So yeah, feeling pretty sad this morning. Weird how it keeps creeping up unexpectedly.

Get her insured, that way I can guarantee that she'll be healthy for the rest of her days and you won't need it.

After a couple of accidents when my cat was younger (a dislocated toe and a sword incident) that involved treatment and overnight stays at the vet (FYI he'd have been cheaper at the Hilton....) we decided to get pet insurance.

£11 a month for the past 6 years or so and he's never had so much as a scratch!

I had this:


on a window sill and the cat jumped up onto it. I heard the clatter and followed the trail of blood down the stairs to see the cat sitting in his bed. It didn't look that bad but I whipped him up the vet anyway. Turns out he'd nicked an artery and would have bled out. Cost a couple of hundred quid for a £9 cat.

 Lovely day out there today. Went on the usual Sat jaunt to a nearby hill with my dad first thing this morning. Clear blue skies, cold air and biting winds. Just what the doctor ordered.

I am now absolutely shattered, having had one morning since Monday that I've not been up at 6 or 7am. And I'm still planning on hitting the gym at 6am tomorrow. Oh woe is me!

 After a hell of an end to the week, I've had a lovely dodge around town today, Looper, ordering Chinese food later, have some beers chilling away, and am currently amusing myself by watching Jr watch Ultimate Wipeout while shouting, "Don't fall, lady!"*

I will also watch Strictly Come Dancing later, and don't care who knows it.
