Just read the transcript of the Guy Pearce webchat. Bit disappointed - his answers were a tad more succinct/abrupt and comes across a little less personable than I had thought.

Mind you, he redeemed himself when he praised Tom Hardy (1) (still looking forward to seeing the Wettest County (2)...) and said that his favourite film of his own is The Proposition.

Welcome to Innuendo 101.

Take (1) and add to (2). Note that the author is a) female, and b) besotted with (1).

Mix liberally.

Innuendo should become clear within 1-3 seconds.

Apparently I'm actually looking forward to Lawless instead now.

if you ever got into a fight with a wizard, or if indeed a wizard got into a fight with a wizard, instead of cowering from the awesome power bought forth from the unknown fathoms, woujldn't it be easier to just knock em the fuck out?

cant be shootin spells if they're unconscious on the ground now can they, i always think that when gandalf is fightin saruman, when he starts to loose he shoulda just clumped his staff round saru's head..boom, job done

About fifteen years ago I went through my own bout of anxiety/depression and there were plenty of panic attacks. Not pleasant at all and some people don't realise how traumatic they can be. Hope you're feeling better.

Thanks DC, much appreciated! I've had anxiety attacks before but not for a couple of years now. Last night I just couldn't breathe and although it only lasted a couple of minutes it was absolutely terrifying. Was even a bit nervous to go to sleep last night but I feel tons better now. Don't want that happening too often!

If I may, can I ask how you got through them? I mean, if you haven't had them in such a long time, what do you think made them finally stop?

If films like Mary Poppins and early TV productions of Upstairs Downstairs are anything to go by, the lighting in our homes leaves a lot to be desired these days

When I was much younger, I used to prefer these to regular TWIX. They're pretty good, give 'em a shot next time you're in the states!

Anyway, off to my mums for Easter Dinner!

With climate change the risk of ice has been reduced. And regardless of the TITANIC connection, I think this is pretty cool. I've long held (ever since the Iceland volcano, in fact) that a return to the era of stately ocean liners and elegant airships would be an incredibly positive development for the modern world - this is a step in the right direction.

I just cut myself shaving and now resemble Action Man (just without the Kung-Fu Grip).

Applying the Alum block afterwards may have been an error. I was like the bloke shaving in Airplane II when he put aftershave on.

That flick has a pretty bad rep, but I quite like it. It has possibly one of the greatest sight gags in film ever.

Considering recent attempts along a similar line (Epic Movie, Date Move, Scary Movie, I see a pattern to the titles of these films) it is a film of greatness.

I maintain that one of the most beautifully succinct sight gags is in the first Airplane, when the line "it's ok, they have instruments" is followed by a cut to them playing musical instruments. Genius.

Those films have given spoofs a bad name. I adore spoofs, when done well. A fair recent example is the excellent Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story.

The Shatner monitor/door one?

I'm not a fan of Airplane 2 but I do agree with Sanch that it's better than the latest crop of spoofs. Stan Helsing? Fuck off.

I highly, highly recommend Fatal Instinct. Not quite recent (1993) but it is certainly funnier than most of those above: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_mBx7Pdg3gY

Son and heir ate just enough chocolate for breakfast to make sure that I was run ragged the rest of the day. They should really double up Easter Eggs with some sort of calming agent like Horlicks or elephant tranquilliser.

What do you think of the ones Leslie Neilsen did in the 1990s- Spy Hard, Dracula: Dead and Loving It and Wrongfully Accused?.

(We'll ignore Repossessed )

Well Easter Dinner went down in flames. If only the Romans had done the job right the first time the world would have been spared the dark ages and I'd still be in a good mood this Sunday afternoon.
