I want to see a movie adaption of thundercats more than a bravestar movie or a he-man one, because i love thundercats and would like to them done really well, ving rhames has to be panthro, and maybe jessica alba for cheetarah.

He's tied up playing the part of Mr Jupiter in the Pigeon Street movie - an astronomer who is always carrying his telescope. He has a dog called Flash. He slept on the bench in the park and looked at the stars.

I'm more worried about who's going to play the twins. Molly and Polly I mean, not the Thundercat ones. Though Phillip Seymour Hoffman is of course a shoe-in for Mr Macadoo who owned the Pigeon Street Pet Shop...

This film, although in the first stage of development, already has a website. If you go to WWW.Thudercatsthemovie.com you can submit your casting suggestions and any other ideas you may have.

Incredibly, this movie already seems to have a release date as well, displayed as 6/12/09. This being an American website (month before day), means that this movie is scheduled for release almost exactly two years fom now, on 12th June 2009.

Just go to WWW.Thundercatsthemovie.com and check it out. It's a very basic, single page site at the moment but it's nice to know that Warner Bros are listening to the fans!

Wasn't Panthro a bit of a shortarse in the cartoon? It could work as a movie, but it is soooo easy too stuff up. Lion-o's hair alone will be tough to get right. Bet they will cast too young. One if the intreasting dynamics of Thundercats was the age gap between Lion-o and the rest of them.

Brilliant!! A little bit of sex wee came out when i read this!! Now bring on live action movies of Ulysees 31, Visonaries, Jayce and the Wheeled Warriors and a decent Dungeons and Dragons movie and i could die right there a happy man/child type thing!

There is a sequal to the crap first Dungeons and Dragons movie, which by many accounts is far supirior.
This is it.

I still cant get my head around it im all for a Thundercats film but you would have to have some pretty good special effects to pull it off otherwise it is gonna suck big time i mean half man half lion jumping around fighting mumm ra the effects is gonna have to be shit hot other wise it is going to look tacky.

I'll be extremely dissapointed if it dosn't include the line "I better get some frickin' tuna!" from Lion-o.

Does anyone realy need to see the sexual tension between Lion-o and Snarf in the flesh!? Be honest if not for the sword and that rather funky lion mit, Lion-o is fundamentaly a whiney pussy (bad punn - sorry) in speedos with an inferiority complex who spends an inordinate amount of time talking to the dead and whos bestest mate is actually a french tickler.......lets not get started on the exploits of the twins, but Panthro and Tigra are clearly finger-cuffing cheetara (or atleast alternating days & nights) and all she's trying to do is cut back on her vasoline expenditure!!!!

............now i think about it - MAKE THE FILM!

Not feeling this at all.. Thundercats was wank then and it'll be even wankier now, it's no transformers. He-man was shit too. This 80's retro thing is scraping the barrel now.

When they do a big screen Captain Planet and The Planeteers to get the global warming message across, THEN we're scraping the bottom of the barrell....

John Barrowman for Captain Planet!

Fate, I say.

The guy who voiced Venkman in the cartoon got the job cos he sounded like Bill Murray. He then also did the voice for Garfield, and because Garfield sounds like Bill Murray, they got Bill Murray to do the voice in the film. It comes full circle!

About ThunderCats - it was my favourite cartoon growing up, My son plays with my old toys (VERY carefully) - I still have Lion-O (Claw dropped down toilet) Monkian (hat on school roof), Panthro (nunchuks lost, arm comes off), Tigra (complete!), Cheetara, Wily Kit, Wily Kat, Bengali, Vulture-Man (foot mauled by teething pupp), Mumm-Ra (in evil AND mummy form - you could only send away for the mummy form), S-s-s-Slythe, a Berbil, Snarf, that dog Mumm-Ra had, Hakiman, The ThunderTank (that rocked), The ThunderClaw (a plane thingy), some two-legged thingy, and the machine S-s-s-Slythe used. Never got the Cat's Lair, although a friend had it - lucky bastard. If I hang on, these could be worth something by the time the film comes out! Not that I'd sell 'em!

If this is done right, it could be very, very good - or it could be utter tripe. People have to remember with casting suggestions that Lion-O is a similar age to Wily-Kit and Kat, but preternaturally aged in transit.

Lion-O - Leonardo Di Caprio (the name works too - Leo...)
Panthro - I'd go with Ving Rhames - the guy from Green Mile is too big
Tigra - Nathan Fillion (Mal, from Firefly/Serenity)
Cheetara - either Jessica Alba, or Bryce Dallas Howard
Wily Kit - that girl from Bridge to Terabithia
Wily Kat - not sure
Jaga - Patrick Stewart
Mumm-Ra - Ron Perlman

ITS TOO SACRED TO TOUCH AND WOULD JUST LOOK ODD!

BUT HERES MY TWO CENTS WORTH FOR CASTING ANYWAY - VING RHAMES NEVER - VIN DIESEL IS MUCH CLOSER TO A PANTHRO - AND HALLE BERRY COULD LOOK LIKE CHEETARAH EASILY. FOR THE OTHERS I HAVNT A CLUE. LETS JUST NOT BOTHER!

Have you noticed that the one constant thing that every one has said actor wise for panthro is ving rhames which is kinda weird like it's some how fated to be.

I hear Rachel McAdams wants to play Cheetara if they make it into a movie and a) due to my huge crush on her and b) looking at photos of the character...she dosen't have to worry about me preventing her dream.  I'd rather have her than the "only hot when she's not speaking" Alba.

And I'm just talking about Alba's "my shit don't stink" attitude in interviews.

I wonder what kind of clothing the characters will have i mean in cartoon's first episode there all basically naked so guess that they will be all clothed at start of film and i hope that lion-o gets to wear more that a blue vest and a pair of blue underwear and boots.

Further more, what was up with Snarf? The rest of the Thundercats were walking about, having fun but at the same time burderned with responsibilty, and were respected as equals, whereas Snarf would sit on his arse chewing his elbow. The problem I have with it is that he's essentially the same as the Thundercats but because he has apparent learning difficulties, and a tendency to say his own name one too many times, his so-called friends would patronise the living shite out him and treat him like a pet.

Snarf wasn't repeating his name.  He was repeating the name of his race.  Snarf's name was actually Osbert.  Snarfs are actually the only creatures in th Thundercats universe that are so good they are incapable of any evil.  Hence Osbert (an elder of the Snarfs) was chosen to be nursemaid to Lion-O.

I'm pretty excited about this.  If this is done as well as the new Turtles film then it's all good as far as I'm concerned.
