Here is the trailer for the long mooted Star wars CGI television show.

http://www.starwars.com/video/view/000478.html

What do you guys think?

It kind of reminds me of the Starship Troopers CGI television series.

Looks fair cool, but whats the point? Didn't they cover the clone wars in the 2D cartoon series? I thought they were going to do events in between 3 and 4.

There was a Starship Troopers cartoon?

Infomation on Starship Troopers CGI cartoon...http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0190198/

It was on Sky one awhile back.

As for Star Wars: The Clone Wars TV series will have no suprises, and its a story that does'nt need to be told. Nevertheless people will watch it.

This series follows on from the 2D clone wars series.

The other one your thinking of, set between III and IV is the live action show which we will probably see in 2009.

Either way, that trailer bought a huge smile to this geeks face!

Brought a smile to my face too. Dunno what to expect as the other clone wars cartoon ended right as ep3 started. Plus the clone wars has been covered in a number of novels and comics so they'll have to watch out for continuity probs or they'll upset the geeks (Like me)

Not all of us read though! And I only saw a couple of the clone wars episodes so I am looking forward to this alot more. As long as a decent channel that presents in widescreen buys it!

IMO when compared to the Starship Troopers TV series, The Star Wars: Clone Wars TV series will be kind of lacking. I have been watching the Starship Troopers TV series recently and I was quite impressed. The executive producer is Paul Vertoven (sp?).

If you are interested in the Starship Troopers tv series send me a PM.

Good point he did. But the end of the series ended at the begining of Revenge of the Sith so it going to have to take a back step so that why she is alive in this.

I think the Clone Wars went on for about 3 years so there is plenty of stories that can be made from it.

I have been watching these, up to EP10 and its a great series.  Has a good feel of older Star Wars than the feel of the prequels, which is strange as its god mostly prequels characters in it.

What i do like about it is they aren't just playing it for the kids there is serious story lines and arcs across episodes.  Its strange to see people been killed in a so called cartoon!!!  Also the animation is top notch i can see why Lucas thought the openning 3 episodes were good enough to be released as a film.  Although i didn't enjoy the film that much the TV series is a lot better.

The only grip is that General Grevious is in loads of episodes but the far better character Asajj Ventress has hardly been used.

Roll on the end of the series and just been reading that Series 2 is in the works.

I've been watching the series, and have been impressed. It's very enjoyable. I can't decide whether I prefer to the previous Clone Wars TV series or not. (Which I might add has gone OOP, which is very annoying as I need the second volume on DVD!)

I just finished the first season. The second half was much better and really knew what it wanted to be. I think I might pick the series up when it arrives on dvd.

Still haven't picked up a copy of Volume 2 of Genndy's series though!

Lucas is up to his usual money making tricks. The first series is being released on DVD, but only 4 EPISODES AT A TIME. So that means the entire series will be spread across 6 releases at £8 a go.

Anyone seen the season 2 trailer?

Looks like much of the same but I wouldn't mind getting it on DVD in the future.

Just finished watching the first season. This is a FANTASTIC series! Great storylines and action and it features a lot of Jedi we only saw glimpses of in the prequels.Assajj Ventress is a great character but she has been underused.I hope she appears more frequently in season 2.I just love the way Obi Wan takes the piss out of her!

My favourite episode was the one where Ventress attempts to rescue Nute Gunray.great action in this one and surprisingly dark and violent for a kids cartoon show.

Cant wait to get the season 1 Blu Ray and roll on season 2!

Can't find the other thread for this.

Just watched episode 4 or 5 of series 2, and this series is so much better than the first (so far at least). It's so much darker, and it's starting to play on the tragedy of Anakin and Padmé a little more.

And as I always say, it looks brilliant in HD, particular space battles/travels, and Coruscant looks fantastic.

Still want series 1 on Blu-ray. I missed a lot of the later episodes.

If the movie put me to sleep and i'm a Star Wars fan, will the series have the same effect?

Series 1 is pretty much more of the same, but as I said above, the second series (so far) has been much better. It's darker and plays on the tragedy, that we know is coming, a bit more. And as usual, there are some great action set pieces.

All best viewed in lovely HD.

Which reminds me, I missed todays episode and it aint on anytime. Tits.

Watched the first 14 episodes of season 1 and am loving it. I can honestly say I've enjoyed this much more than any of the prequels.
