Not wanting to be too Skywalker whiny or anything, because in some ways, this is a really fun idea, but... I always thought that this is the sort of thing that magazines like mojo or classic rock do when there are no decent records out this month. Pick up something old and put it on the cover again.

Think about it for a minute, whether its the june or july issue, what does it say about the state of movies in 2007 that in the height of the popcorn movie season, there are no new films that are worth putting on the front cover of empire.

30 covers for 30 years tells you that, yes, star wars is still awesome, (sign me up for a Jawa one with a 'Dink, Dink, Utini, it's 30 years of Star Wars' tagline) but also that there is nothing out in the cinemas at the moment which will get close to the same treatment in 30 years time, because it's not even getting the respect of a front cover now. 2007 is proving to be a rubbish year for movies.

Why not do a one off for all subsribers where we can buy one mag which has all 30 covers in...like a poster book?
then that poor git hasn't got to pay £107
Screw everyone else...we commit to Empire!!!

In fact as we have all been voting for our best covers ever, why not do a poster book fo the top 30 and sell it to us?????
I want commision!

Nothing. I mean there are alot of big name films about to arrive, but you can't deny starwars' huge influence on the cinematic landscape

 I'm sad enough to buy all thirty, but certainly not rich enough. Depending on what I get through my letterbox at the end of the month, I might buy one or two more, but that's it. I've got the rent to pay!

I really like nightspring's idea: a free book for subscribers with all 30 covers in. That would rock my world like a Slave Girl Leia pop-up book.

then 2 or 3 (i've lost count) from a pool of Gamorean Gaurds, Porkins, Mon Motha, Bosk, Lobot, Uncle Owen, Aunt Beru and Mr Bronson.

If my copy arrives with Jar Jar on i'm gonna burn it and cancel the subscription!!

I'd have nothing against an specially designed cover,  Empire could have commissioned something by Drew Struzan for example. That would be cool. But I jsut really do feel that this is just overkill

Enough already with Star Wars. Over the past 8 years since I have read the magazine there have been dozens of Star Wars specials, issues, 25th year anniversarys etc. Are we facing this for the 35th and 40th anniversarys. Get a life and let Star Wars go! And this from your biggest fan and reader and I love Star Wars. Please. Let. It. Go. And if you are serious about 30 separate covers you have seriously gone insane. Or insanely greedy trying to make people buy the same magazine over and over.

 What can I say other than I LIKE IT!!!! Well, this WILL be a collectors challenge. I'm a self confessed Star Wars uber obsessive, and if I have to drive to every paper shop, petrol station and supermarket in the lands to acquire all 30 covers, so be it! I've been saving up for a 30th year blow out, and this should start things nicely. It'll also start my trip to Celebration Europe with a bang thats for sure! Come to think of it, I wonder of Celebration Europe will have all the covers?! Hmmmm......the possibilities

Bravo Empire, full marks, lets see your competitors best this one!
