Every month when my copy of empire arrives a my door the first thing i look at is the future films section just hoping to see that my all time favourite cartoon Wacky Races is being made into a live action movie, every month i am dissapointed. 
Am i the only person who thinks this would make a cool movie

 unfortunately from the lack of replies it would seem that yes you are. hold on. No it could be great, get Pacino to be Darstardly and Blanchett to be Pitstop.

I did a thread about this on the about 2 years ago on the old forum, it had pictures and possible casting choices and everything.

No bugger replied to me either.

 It's up to WB to decide to make a film, but although I can perfectly imagine Jeremy Irons as Dick Dastardly and a CG Mutley, I think it's best they left it alone given how shite Hanna-Barbara's The Flintstones and Scooby Doo were when filmed. They need a good director to give it a consistent wacky tone with maybe some sympathy for Dick.

A few years ago the papers were reporting Dustin Hoffman as having signed on to play Dastardly!

Hasn't doing live-action versions of The Flintstones and Scooby-Doo taught Hollywood ANYTHING?? No, because The Jetsons is also up for a live-action film treatment!!

This would be a good movie, but Hollywood will probably put in a shit plot for no reason and only have half the film as races. If they manage to make the races as crazy as the cartoon did, however, I am there.

If they did make this and didn't screw it up they should go on to amke Catch the Pigeon. I think thats what it was called!

Anyway Mutley is class, if they didn't get him right i would have to go on a small but effective fire bombing campaign!

Could you also check on The Jetsons movie, for over a decade now, it's moved from director to director, studio to studio, actor to actor. Last I heard, Steve Martin was up for the part of George Jetson, and Danny DeVito was up for Mr. Spacely. Can Empire or anyone else comfirm this??

I think Rene Zellwinger could play a good Penelope as she practically does the same role in Down with Love.

Brandon Fraser for Peter Perfect is... well perfect casting.

For Mutley I think they should do a part CGI, part live action dog. Like they did in Cats and Dogs.

Just to go off on a tangent.

When I bought the full series on video, my mates and I had a Wacky Races Racing night! Before the start of each episode we'd all put a pound in the pot and whoevers racer came in first would win the pot, if no-one won it would get carried over onto the next race until somebody won. It was a brilliant night, try it !

I would like to see this done I don't have any problems with the first two Scoody Doo films there are not classics but I like them. Would like to see Kristen Bell has Penelope Pitstop.
