I started the first version of this thread before Christmas and it was reasonably successful. However, for the last 4 months everytime I try and open that thread it locks on me. So I thought I'd start it up again from scratch.

Here we go then. All these a segments from movie posters. Simply name the film. One point each. There is also a theme that links all these images. The first person to figure it out gets 5 points as a bonus.

That's it for now but those eyes in No.14 are really getting to me. I know those eyes. And No. 7 is taking the piss isn't it?

I think everyone knows the eyes of  No. 14, but perhaps not from this poster. As for 7, I thought that one would be tricky, but it would have been too obvious if I'd used any other part of the poster

Just three left to solve.

EDIT: There just happens to be a thread in 'Golden Oldies' about Cushing & Lee. It features the same movie poster. For the record, it's just a coincidence. I used my own methods of deduction to solve that tricky mind-tingler.

The Wire is surely the best TV show ever broadcast in America. This claim isn't based on my having seen all the possible rivals for the title, but on the premise that no other program has ever done anything remotely like what this one does, namely to portray the social, political, and economic life of an American city with the scope, observational precision, and moral vision of great literature.

The Wire has never won an emmy? [It] deserves the Nobel Prize for Literature!

Dracula it is. Now then, what's the connection between all these films?

Is the connection that none of them feature Britney Spears giving hand relief to a 12 foot marmoset, whilst discussing the nature of feminism with Germaine Greer?
